Nice and Fast. Just works.
Nice tablet. Quite fast, got Virtualization capabilities. (Tested on VBox)A good alternative to Microsoft Surface (not Pro) - which is freezing piece of ###.One huge mistake from Dell is keyboard with F# keys, you must press the F# buttons while holding Fn button.Really strange decision. Hopefully, one awesome guy got a 'workaround' for this, more usable now. :)

Be Advised...stay away
After started and setting up the Tablet got extremely hot ---Core temp shows 88C almost to Tj max. For a fan less low voltage CPU this is very unusual. Either the product is defective or Dell is fooling people with all their Venue series tablets. Do not go for this 7100 series (7130 or 7140 tablets)Update:This tablet is either refurbished or used before. The battery report shows 96.1% wear level. Also the warranty will expire in 4 months based on the service tag.

A nice pad computer with some annoying deficciencies
I purchased through Dell and don't see how to add a review there, so I will make a few comments here. First off, the screen is beautiful. No complaints there. I have gotten 10 hours from the battery just doing web browsing and word processing. So in that category it is beating or meeting my now unused iPad. This model is fanless and hence makes no significant noise. It gets barely warm to the touch when browsing. The only time it got at all warm was when I created a system backup, but even then it was still amazingly cool. That's the good news. The bad news is that the battery is not easily changeable. It can be done but the users has to prey the back off and unscrew several screws. The back is difficult to get off and I don't think Dell intends most users to attempt it. I doubt that I will get $1k worth of work out of it before the battery needs replacing. Also, I bought with the intention of replacing the M.2 SSD with a 512 GB Samsung drive. Unfortunately Dell has truncated the space for the drive so that the largest drive that will fit is 256 GB. This appears to be an intentional limitation, maybe to allow them to sell an "upgraded" version at a later date. A larger drive would easily fit but they put a big hunk of plastic in there which can have no other purpose than artificially limiting the size of the drive. It's irritating to put it mildly. The larger drive is important on an SSD because even if the extra space isn't used it extends the lifetime of the SSD dramatically. Another issue is that none of the monitoring utilities that I tried were able to read the temperature and SMART data for the SSD. This I view as a major deficiency. Amazon says to use 3 stars if it is OK. And that is where I am.

I honestly expected it to be worse. It does a damn decent job for what it is intended to do.
This is a surprisingly capable little guy. It's in the uncanny valley between higher end Transformer PCs and your run of the mill tablet. It's not a netbook slogging around the dirt of abysmal performance but it's not remotely close to a race car of a machine either. It's right in the middle. It does what it is supposed to do and nothing more. No, you can't game on it but Terraria works as does Minecraft. You can sort of edit a movie on it. It does work albeit not without some headaches. You can photoshop on it for simple things. That's pretty cool.Where I think it shines is just in its versatility and small form factor. It doesn't excel at anything other than mucking about on the couch or in bed or plugging it into your TV through HDMI and keeping the guests entertained. That stuff, it does really really well. You get full Windows to do just about anything you want within performance expectations in a small package that you can cuddle with when you're sick and it won't burn you when you pass out or keep you up with a turbine of a fan.

Awesome Tablet and Computer
I was looking for something that would I could be productive on, but still use as a consumption device. The dell met all my needs. The core m is powerful enough for photoshop and light video editing, but has the battery life to binge on netflix. I would have preferred a 4:3 or 3:2 aspect ratio but for the price I'm not complaining. Just as good as a Surface with an i3 or m3, but for the half the cost.

Wrong Keyboard
I received a soft keyboard with this tablet, not the hard keyboard that has a battery. It is, of course, ok to sell that inferior keyboard, but they never described the item and I assumed that it was the keyboard that is commonly advertised for this convertible tablet. I would not have spent $499 knowing that it came with this keyboard.
