Worked like a charm. Excellent product.
I had an intermittent check engine light, and a residual airbag light after changing the clock spring last year. I was quickly able to identify the CEL is likely a bad gas cap, and get that ordered. I was able to then clear both the CEL and the airbag light. I'm not sure that I needed the 'pro' version, but I know I still saved money over taking it to a shop.

Outstanding product for Volkswagen Auto Group owners
This device is absolutely necessary if you want to save yourself money in diagnosing and fixing problems. For example, I wanted to upgrade my car's battery from a regular one to an AGM battery which requires clearing out codes and adapting the new battery to the electrical system. If you do this at a VW dealer, it will cost you nearly $500 (with battery). I bought the battery for $175 and did all the electrical stuff with this OBDeleven product. Here's what I like about it:1. The app (you have to download it for iOS or Android) is easy to use and very modern. Whoever is behind it keeps it up-to-date.2. The scanner syncs with the app quickly and easily. If you have ever connected AirPods to your iPhone, it's about that easy.3. It reads all of the codes and gives you a description of what they are. And they provide links to get more information if you need it.4. It's easy to clear all of the outstanding codes (and there's a lot of them when you switch batteries).5. The scanner is small and compact, and you can hide it in your glovebox.6. It's just fun to use.Remember this device only works with Volkswagen Auto Group cars, which I believe includes VW, Audi, Porsche, and a few other brands in the USA.

No documentation. You have to pay $$$ for each attempt to do something with it.
NO meaningful documentation. Not even anything to tell you whether the Pro Plan that you paid for is activated. When I removed it from the box, the part of the unit that is shown as either red or blue on the Amazon page and elsewhere including OBDEleven's web page was gray. Not having any idea why it was gray, and expecting it to be blue because I had purchased the option with Pro Plan (so that I could change vehicle settings), I tried to find a user manual on their web site, or ANYTHING that would explain this. There is a little bitty user manual, but it is every bit as useless as that little slip of paper in the box. After wasting the better part of an hour trying to find information about this, I gave and decided to just try and see what happens. Once I had it connected via Bluetooth to my iPhone 11, I discovered there is NOTHING intuitive about how it works, including the initial steps. Everything that you do is essentially a leap of faith. Eventually, after I selected some option that said that I wanted to purchase the Pro Plan (even though I had already paid for it), the color, which turns out to be controlled via LED, changed from red to blue. WHY WAS THERE NO DOCUMENTATION OF THIS? But this was just the precursor of what was to come. With every step, you are expected to read the minds of the people who designed it.I bought it because I wanted to do two things. I wanted to disable the dynamic steering ratio in my SQ5, and I wanted to do whatever is required to make the "Inspection Due" indicator stop popping each time I start the car. I'm not certain, but there is a chance that I managed to disable the dynamic steering. But then when I decided to try and do the other thing, I had no choice but to try and follow some lousy instructions I found on some web site owned by someone who was unaffiliated with this company. According to those instructions, I would need use one of the apps, whereas on VAG com this would be one of the "long codings". One of the problems is that this company, OBDEleven, superimposes a structure and a naming scheme of THEIR OWN INVENTION on EVERYTHING, yet they do not supply ANY DOCUMENTATION of any of it. It ends up being a stupid game, which I hate. When I found the app that I thought might be the one I needed, the screen indicated that I needed to purchase "credits" in order to use that app. Thus, instead of giving you the GENERAL capability that allows you to do many things in a general way if you are only supplied the essential information, they supply you with an "app" for the various things you are likely to want to do, and they charge you credits EACH TIME YOU USE THE APP. You don't pay for the app one time, but each you use it. So, if you change the wrong thing because the instructions were useless, and realize that you need to change it back the way it was, you have to PAY AGAIN TO USE THE APP, and this assumes that the app will even give you the ability to change it back the way it was, which is not guaranteed. So, I paid $155 to get the OBDEleven with Pro Plan, in order to have the ability to make simple changes to the vehicle, but in order to reset the "Inspection Due" indication that comes on in the car when I start the engine, I am expected to purchase additional "Credits". Seriously? These people are out of their freakin' minds. There is no way in h-ll that I'm going to play that game. After I had this experience, I went back to the Amazon page and read it up and down to see if there was any mention of the need to buy "Credits". I could not find any mention of it. So, what you have is poorly defined in the sense that YOU DO NOT FIND ANY PRECISE STATEMENT OF WHAT YOU CAN WITH THE PRODUCT, ANYWHERE, and to make it worse, YOU APPARENTLY HAVE TO PAY THEM IN ORDER TO DO ANYTHING MEANINGFUL WITH THE THING, AND NOWHERE IS THIS EXPLAINED TO THE DEGREE OF SPECIFICITY THAT IS INHERENTLY NEEDED!Today is Saturday, so their customer support is not available. On Monday, I will attempt to use their customer support, but as you would guess it is chat-based, so I do not have any real expectation that I will succeed with that Inspection Due thing. If I am successful with that, I will keep the thing, but my assessment of the product and the company will not change. This company needs to invest some of those profits into producing a meaningful user manual in PDF format that people can download. The manual needs to have meaningful explanations of what each of the different paths through the phone application is for, so that the user can have some hope of knowing which path to take to do whatever it is they want to do. This is MANIFESTLY needed, but THEY HAVE NOT THUS FAR MADE ANY SIGNIFICANT EFFORT TO DO THIS. And, they need to produce a chart are table that clearly shows, for each capability, the number of credits needed and whether the Pro Plan is needed. As it is now, this thing is the biggest rip-off I've ever encountered.

Confused about the pro account and credits? Read here
This is a very powerful, capable tool in the hands of someone who knows how to code modules. This is still a very useful tool for those less familiar with coding, and the credits make that easy too.For starters, you do need an account. When you first connect the dongle to your phone, the pro account automatically unlocks, no need to look for a code to redeem or anything else. You do NOT need to use the in-app "one click apps" (read: spend more money for convenience) to code things; if you feel comfortable enough coding the modules on your own, all you need is the pro account or higher. There are tons of guides for VW/Audi online that walk you through how to code various features, and I'm sure guides exist for other makes of vehicle.I did experience a few occasions where the dongle seemed to time out and didn't respond for several minutes, or modules did not accept certain long coding. All I did was shut the car off, let it completely power down (open and close driver door, lock doors) and then try again which fixed it every time. Do note that some coding requires the hood to be open, so pay close attention to directions.Hope this helps eliminate some confusion!

Good purchase.
Cool little tool for live data, maintenance, code diagnostics, and customization, but the credit price and membership stuff is a bit much. Doesn't do anything for ecu or dsg tuning so if thats what your after an accessport or the like might be a better a choice. The 1 click descriptions could be better as you will likely waste credits on some things. There are now two different apps and could be a little confusing at times. This will drain car battery if left in obd port overnight. Over all pretty handy little gadget to have.
