A great short story
This short story contained a little more romance than Lisa Gardner's previous novels, however, it was just the right touch! It was a nice, quick little read that also contained some quirkiness, but not too much that made you want to stop reading. It was a nice story to read while waiting for the much anticipated "Catch Me". You can't go wrong with any Lisa Gardner novel. She can't write stories fast enough for me! Every time I read one of Gardner's books, I'm left with a sense of needing more (as in I just want another story to read and I want it now!!) Gardner is an extremely talented, gifted crime story teller!

Good short story
I am not really a person who enjoys short stories, but I have certain authors I will always read. Lisa Gardner is one of those authors and I enjoyed this D. D. Warren short story.

Too short
I've read every one of Lisa Gardner's books and even have my Mom and Dad hooked on her now too. But I'd have to say that this is my least favorite Lisa Gardner book :( It was just OK. It was too short and it felt rushed. There could have been so many different ways to twist this story being that it included a graveyard, actors, drama, a murdered cop, etc. But the ending felt like a cop out. I hope that her next one is more in line with her previous novels.

Lisa Gardner rules in whodunits!
Lisa writes GREAT whodunit with twists and turns right up to the end!! Always wondering right up to the very end how the book will end!!

Short mystery w/touches of love and dry humor.
This is a short murder mystery in which pregnant Sergeant Detective D.D. Warren accepts a position as a consultant on a low budget movie. The movie is being filmed in a cemetery across the street from the murder scene featured in Hide. On top of that disturbing fact and unpleasant reminder, the previous consultant (a retired cop) was found dead. D.D. quickly moves from consultant back to Boston Police Detective. The story takes place in one day. With her "watermelon-sized belly", D.D. physically struggles to solve the crime throughout the night. She also struggles with her commitment to Alex, to the Boston PD, and to motherhood. There are little touches of true love and dry humor. I loved the ending. It will change the rest of D.D.'s life. Before each of the 7 chapters are parts of a "murder blog" which contains steps on how to commit murder. Each step contains details on how to select a victim, how to choose a weapon, and goes up to the proper disposal of a body. The steps were eerie and made my flesh creep. This was totally the style of Lisa Gardner.I consider myself a hard-core Gardner fan since 1997's The Perfect Husband. I have read all five of the D.D. Warren books; therefore, I think it was worth $1.99. If you're not familiar with the books and you're curious, you may want to borrow it from another Kindle user. (I skipped the preview of Catch Me; I'll wait for the full novel.)

Short, but sweet... Characters are great
I must say that this was an enjoyable couple hour read for me. I had become familiar with Gardner's DD Warren characters in previous stories and love that she was able to share the last couple days of her pregnancy. It was a good read that didn't require much thinking.

A "Between The Books" *Very* Short Novella
This story is about a day in the life of Dectective D. D. Warren which was obviously written as a segue into Lisa Gardner's next D. D. Warren novel, Catch Me , coming to us on Feb,7, 2012. D. D. is seven months pregnant and is moonlighting as a consultant to a movie director. She quickly learns that the previous cop consultant has been murdered and she suspects someone in the cast may be gulity of murder.I enthusiastiacally like and have read most of Lisa Gardner's books and I especially like the D. D. Warren series. But I found this short novella to be ok at best. The story was far from suspenseful, in fact it was rather cheesy. I found the supporting characters to be one dimensional, predictable and, well, cheesy. (Synonym for "cheesy" would be "corny.") The author, in my opinion, should have just skipped this vignette and spent a few pages in the next novel birthing the baby and getting on to the next quality mystery. I am looking forward to reading Catch Me and I just know that Lisa will be back to her outstanding prose and story quality! With regret, I would advise you to skip this one and wait for the "good stuff" coming soon!

Disappointing
First, let me say I'm a big fan of Lisa Gardner's novels. When I bought "The 7th Month," I didn't realize it was a short story (so I'm really glad it cost only two bucks). I found the story totally lacking -- too short with NO character development at all. If you've never read this author, don't let this book be the first of hers that you read -- or the second or the third...

Exciting!
This book is really exciting right through. D.D. Warren gets involved with a movie set as a crime scene expert. She is also pregnant with Alex's child. The ending is great when things cone together and D..D. Gives birth.

Superficial
