Not 'fully' compatible with some models listed, this is a HALF height card.
Be careful, some of the Dell models listed as compatible are not quite. This is a 1/2 height card, some of the Dell models listed take full height cards, like the vostro 1500. The 1/2 height MAY not snap in because it will be too short to reach the clips, also, since the card is shorter, is it possible the antenna wires won't reach, depending on the layout inside your laptop. That's why I took one star off.I had to take a stiff piece of cardboard and insert between the top of the card and holding clips to give it enough tension to stay in place. One wire barely was long enough to reach the leads, the other I had to pull and stretch, but fortunately did not break.Open your laptop and look before you buy. If your original is a full height card (about 2"), make sure your wires will be long enough to reach a half height (about 1 inch), and if you aren't comfortable using a piece of cardboard to 'jam' the card to keep it in place, then don't get this.By the way, works great in hacintosh, and also can be used to upgrade old Mac models that are not officially supported to run Sierra or High Sierra, but are updated using the patcher. The original wifi cards in these older Mac models are not supported even with the patcher because Apple removed the drivers. This card has a Broadcomm chip that is supported by SIerra and High Sierra. BAsically any Mac with Broadcom BCM4321 chip, the wifi will not work if upgraded to Sierra or High Sierra using the patch. replace with this card and it should work (assuming the Mac Model allows access to internal card.)

This is almost a museum piece, but a very good one
Broadcom has gone out of the business of supplying drivers for their wifi cards, so you have to scrounge around on the internet for some willing company like Lenovo to let you download their driver out of the goodness of their hearts. Or, maybe Windows 8 has a driver built in.Broadcom pioneered a very sensitive wifi card capable of doing both wireless networking and bluetooth using only one antenna. So, run it on a HP laptop or the like and you'll get all kinds of device drivers for blutetoothing and wifinetworking under Windows 7.It would really help if the Amazon storefronts kept a collection of downloadable drivers for the mini pci-express cards they sell.]

Works perfectly, but generates a lot of heat
Fits perfectly in the half-size slot in my Gateway P7805u, where the Bluetooth card would be installed in some models with the same motherboard. Connectivity is great, easy to find drivers, reliable. Scrounged a couple of antennae from a dead laptop, and the resulting range is acceptable. The only issue is that this small card generates noticeable amounts of heat. The HDD next to it heats up about 8 degrees C higher than the HDD on the other side when the card is active. Laptop palm rest becomes noticeably hot. Not a huge deal, but be aware that this card runs hot.

O'k card but driver isn't the best
Win7 default version is 4.8.x and to get to 5.6.x you'd need to download from Dell and manually update driver. Just beware to load proper version, if you unpack and point at directory it will load Japanese driver. Also the defaults aren't exactly the best, you'll have to adjust them to make connections run faster.Other then that it is o'k card, not the fastest but supports dual band.

Works great under windows 8 and OSX
I love it. I bought two of these. The first one for my custoMac and it works great under Mountain Lion 10.8.4. Both bands do get recognized, so I am running at 5G. The computer is about 130ft away on a second floor, and I get 216Mbps average speed. Airdrop does work perfectly, and no kexts are needed. It recognizes it as native.Windows 8 recognizes it right away, so no need to install drivers. I probably have walls a little too thick, or the antenna isn't strong enough, but I only get 150Mbps from 50ft away as compared to my other system. This one in particular replaces my asus g75vw's atheros single band wifi card, and under the 5G band, It no longer gives me interference with other devices, nor intermitent connections to my router. I haven't tested it under the 2.4G band, but I assume it worksI might buy a couple more, unless I find an 802.11AC option.

Not a standardized card - Dell Firmware locks it to dell only systems. Does not use broadcom firmware
What is not disclosed is while most wifi chips are standard, this one will not work in a non-dell laptop. Dell has programmed their chip (this one anyways) to respond to a "hardware switch" which is programmed to "off" initially it would seem.I use both Linux and Windows on a Toshiba laptop with an unlocked bios. It detected it but both windows and linux reported that wireless was "switched off" or "disabled by hardware switch".Be careful when buying "branded" hardware as it may not be generic. A standard non branded broadcom wireless chip would be much better. This one being "branded" dell - of course Dell doesn't want you to profit off them <.<

Works for Dell Latitude E6510
The Dell Latitude E6510 supports having two wireless cards. The first wireless card slot that is easiest to access does not have screw holes in the right position to hold this card in. The location you are looking for to secure this properly is under the "hinge cover" that wraps around the VGA output and is next to the power plug. You access this after taking the battery and center screw plate off. Total screws removed will be 5. If you want *two* wireless cards in your E6510, make sure the card you choose a different card that is twice as tall as this one so the screw holes match. Alternatively, you could buy this one and secure it with the aberrant use of a makeshift tension brace (popsicle stick) followed by false pride and subsequent loss of dignity.
