Surprisingly pleasant tone that makes unstructured “music” less annoying. They are very smooth and fine grained. I debated between these and 12” sticks. I chose these for being more sturdy, safer and unpainted as one child is still mouthing items.I would definitely buy them again.Update: The sticks are holding up great. They are very smooth and we have no splinters or cracking. The 12 month old loves putting them in a juice jar with a 2 inch opening and shaking them out.

Recommend if you are a music teacher.

Such a game changer! We had 15 inch narrow sticks in our 2s room. They were too narrow to grip well. We switched to these lummi sticks. They are ticket so the little hands can grasp better. They are shorter so they don't whack their friends with them. And they make an airier sound when we tap the floor, not sharp like our old ones.Another massive benefit is that our old sticks were painted and could leave marks on the floor... these sticks are natural and don't leave marks!!!We use them every day!

I have tried a few types of rhythm sticks, they vary on sound and safety. One of the less expensive sets gave us slivers. These are the best if you are lookin for something inexpensive with good sound and most importantly, SAFE! The do not have a ribbed stick in the set, and I knew this when ordering.

I needed to update my collection of sticks after years of chipping and misplacing sets. I've only had long skinny ones before so I was hesitant about the shape and size of these but they have quickly won me over! The rounded edges make them much safer for little hands. I'm not worried about my toddlers poking their eyes out. The length is great as well for the same reasons. I thought that by being shorter that the children wouldn't be able to reach the floor as well but that wasn't an issue. What I especially liked was that we can actually tap the end pieces together...adding another exercise in fine motor skills. I've only used these once so I can't speak to their durability but they seem incredibly sturdy. I haven't seen dents in them yet and they have got a good weight to them. We practiced tossing and catching them in the air which my three to five year olds were all able to do. I also appreciate that I don't have to worry about paint chipping. I'm coming back to buy another set because I love them so much!I took off one star for the bags. They aren't terrible. They are actually quite sturdy. There is something off about the size of them. They're almost too perfectly fit for the sticks. I wouldn't go as far to say that you have to squeeze to get them all back in but when you have to move quickly with a large group of kids it felt cumbersome to put them all back. I may look as dumping them all in a cheap tote for ease.

Good product for Music classes with young children. They are a good size for small hands, with rounded ends for safety, and no paint to chip off. The natural wood finish is attractive, and the sound is better than the long rhythm sticks which they replaced.

These are perfect and exactly what I had hoped and more. I use these for young children to "practice" drumming with. I have used cheaper ones in the past that broke very easily. These feel much more sturdy and will be able to handle their drumming for years to come.

These sticks are perfect for little hands and the rounded ends are a plus. The children love to use these as we find the rhythm and beat to our songs and rhymes.Ages I use them for: 1-4.

I bought these as I run Music class for a few different spec. ed classes. All the students love them and they are splinter free! They are nice and smooth and just the right size for my primaries!

The sticks are fine. They’re not grooved so the only sound you can make is by hitting them together, which my Kindergarten music students enjoy! Each box of 16 sticks contains 2 carry bags - presumably because you are meant to be able to fit 8 sticks in each one. Wrong! The most you can cram into each bag is 6 sticks, which makes no sense and renders the carry bags useless. The SureTight plastic containers from Dollarama hold 18 sticks each And this is how I will be transporting the sticks.
