Kindle Quick Log Splitter - Manual Splitting Tool - Steel Wedge Point Splits Firewood Like A Boss Safely & Easily

We use logs domestically in a log burner in the lounge. Our standard delivery is 3 x 1 tonne bags from a local farmer, however the size can vary, and the recent batch had 1x bag of pretty much “half round” logs, which are a bit too big for us especially if they’re the next off the stack and need to start a fire. As we’re not in a commercial situation, using an axe occasionally on the bigger ones was ok but I’m not a keen or competent axe-weilder. I saw one of these advertised on Social media and thought it could be perfect. It appears well made and sturdy, and I mounted it easily to a block of plywood as a base via the fixing hols on the legs. It recommends being mounted and it feels like this takes some of the shock. With straight-grained logs it would split sometimes at the first blow with the sledgehammer, however knotted ones were up to 8 goes. The product description says the blade is pretty blunt on purpose but I didn’t see the merit so I used a rasp to sharpen it, which obviously definitely improved the performance. I store this inside out of the rain so I can’t see rust being much of an issue. So for my domestic use splitting down a few over-sized logs this is perfect and I wholeheartedly recommend. I cannot vouch for its long term robustness.Update; I have now owned this 2 years, it is still working perfectly, I wouldn’t be without it. But as I said, knotted logs are much more tricky.

Great help with logs

After the first use, the blade was damaged. Not as strong as first anticipated. So disappointed as this was expensive. It does still do the job but for how long I’m not sure.

Splitting used to be a chore, now I look forward to splitting, I have even tried splitting things you wouldn't normally split. So far I have used it to split bananas, a deck of cards and several bills. Works every time!

Video was very impressive but the reality is that this tool does not split logs unless they are absolutely poinded several times by a very heavy sledgehammer. Complete waste of a lot of my money. Single blow with my axe versus 6 or more heavy blows with a sledgehammer. REALLY disappointed

only suitable for small logs

Heavy duty and looks good but the ‘cutting edge’/ridge you balance the log on before striking with a mallet, is just not sharp enough to split most logs- unless they are so dry they already have fissures through them.

Really disappointed. Blade not sharp and we are yet to successfully split any wood using it. Sadly was tested it too late and outside of return window. Will go back to just using an axe

L'articolo è robusto e si possono spaccare pezzi di legna aventi fino a 19 cm di diametro. C'è da sudare in presenza di nodi nel pezzo di legna (ad esempio la biforcazione di un ramo) ed è meglio evitare le radici.Dimenticate i ceppi per due motivi: dimensioni e tipo di legno. Un ceppo avrà sempre una dimensione superiore a 19 cm e il tipo di legno sarà duro da spaccare.Concludendo buon attrezzo per spaccare la legna rispettando il limite del diametro di 19 cm ed evitando i nodi nella legna da lavorare.

Usei o Kindle Quick durante todo o inverno e funciona bem. É difícil imaginar uma maneira mais rápida de produzir gravetos, sem ser mecanizada e mais cara.É importantíssimo entender, que este é um dispositivo para dividir pedaços de lenha relativamente pequenos em gravetos para atear fogo. Não é para rachar cepos inteiros, ou pedaços grandes. Se tentar fazer isso, não vai funcionar. E, como o metal é bastante macio, a lâmina pode-se deformar. Por outras palavras, se a lenha for grande, primeiro deve dividi-la usando outro método. Eu uso peças com largura não mais do que 10 cm, e não mais longas do que 15 - 20 cm. Obviamente, devem ser sem nós.Uma das fotos na descrição do produto mostra, infelizmente, o Kindle Quick a ser usado para rachar um pedaço maior. Isso deve ser, na minha opinião, um tipo de madeira extraordinariamente fácil de rachar, ou simplesmente uma ilusão.Se não for cuidadoso ao martelar, poderá bater nas partes superiores do dispositivo com os dedos. Para limitar o risco, adicionei algum isolamento para tubos no topo, veja na fotografia.Seguindo a sugestão de outro avaliador, montei o aparelho dentro de um cesto. Assim, não é preciso pegar cada graveto do chão, e o trabalho é mais rápido. Eu também o montei numa base verticalmente rígida, mas leve. A leveza facilita a movimentação para diferentes lugares de trabalho.A maciez do metal pode ser vista como uma vantagem, aliás, pois significa que há menos risco de o quebrar, se por acidente bater nele com o martelo. Também significa que é fácil afiar a lâmina com uma lima.Em conclusão: Se não for abusado para tentar rachar grandes pedaços de madeira, funciona bem. É mais fácil e rápido do que a forma tradicional, usando um machado. Porém, dado que é uma ferramenta simples, o preço é relativamente alto. Esta, e as limitações no tamanho da lenha inicial, são as razões para dar apenas quatro estrelas.
