Master the Hindi Alphabet, A Handwriting Practice Workbook: Train your muscle memory and explode your Hindi writing skills Review: Alphabet book - Good beginner practice book to learn the alphabet and writing the letters. There’s a page dedicated to each letter to practice writing it. Nothing additional like words or sentences. Review: Extremely helpful for extreme beginner- zero previous knowledge - I’ve been learning a little Hindi using Duolingo, and this is just what I needed to get the hand of writing! I’m 33yr old mom of two. English (US) is my first and only language. I took Japanese for only a year in middle school, and Italian for a year. I‘ve been using the workbook less than a week and I think I’m already making progress. Author gives permission to students and teachers to copy for personal use, which is also a plus.

Nice practice workbook
Sufficient practice, good instructions how to trace the letters. I was surprised how large the size of this workbook is, it is letter size (I think it is convenient)! however, the lines are half an inch height, so each letters are a lot bigger than a person would normally write. Probably this is particularly good for kids.

Very helpful and descriptive
I love how simple and easy to understand this workbook is! The only comment my fluent Hindi speaking husband had was that I should find an Urdu-Hindi version because that’s what he was taught growing up.

Time waste incomplete info, Physically decent
No explanation as to how characters are used and it seems to exclude characters. I finished each letter, but not the full rote copy pages. I could not write my own name having exhausted the informaiton in this book. It's better than nothing but has so much to improve on before being actionably useful.

Everyone knows that the best way to learn a language is the way we learned our mother-tongue, by repeating over and over again (think Tellytubbies). It’s also the way Pimsleur language-learning method which is a personal favourite of mine. Returning from a trip to India (and being rather ashamed that my Hindi was confined to Namaste and Dhanyavaad) I decided to have a bash at learning more. But I wanted to get a handle on Hindi Script too and this book looked just the ticket - pages and pages of characters to trace over and over until the shapes lodge in your muscle-memory. I say the sound out loud each time I write a character as well which helps. You are given permission to make photocopies of the tracing pages which is useful, but I’m finding that just going over the letters which I’ve already completed works too. It’s a really good book for learning the Devanagari. No frills - just put a towel over your head and crack on.
