This is a very high quality tool made in Italy. An attachment that allows the usage of any diameter pen or pencil is great!

Its seems to be good quality. Only complaint is the the adapter that holds the pencil or pen you put it, the little tightener on it fell out on me once and man was it a pain to get back on.

Pros: - Blue parts are plastic but the compass still feels premium and it feels really good when using. - Unlike other metal compasses, the needle does not slip when you lean the compass as far as 45° while drawing. - Universal pencil holder attachment can fit almost any pen/pencil. - Stays accurate when putting it down, handling with different hands, and used in different positions. Cons: - Small blue screw of the universal pen attachment is plastic. For some people that part is constantly threaded & unthreaded therefore saving a few pennies in aluminum specifically there is odd.

*DO NOT purchase this compass* I have drawn with an older version of this compass and with this particular compass I couldn't create a *single* circle of equal circumference (the tolerances are that bad). The version sold here is either *not* the true product (amazon knockoff) OR the quality has *significantly* reduced. I am not in anyway trying to sound dramatic. I am merely posting this review to help prevent someobody from making a ~$25 purchase on a defective product. I have attached a picture of a previous review and I had the same exact issues (aside from bad tolerances) from the moment the compass was opened from the box.

Great compass that allows you to attach fine liners, skinny markers, as well as pencils. Love it!

There is nothing worse than reading mixed reviews of an item and deciding which reviews are using poor judgement. The major complaint from the poor reviews are the screws won't tighten. If the screw was stripped, then they received a defective item but that's unlikely. Possible, but unlikely. In order to tighten the screw, one most hold the screw in place with the thumb, while tightening the nut. Otherwise, one will have troubles tightening the compass needle or the pencil. Once you figured out that piece of engineering, then you realize, it's not the compass, but the user. Given most of the compasses, despite different brands, are exactly the same design (then there is no avoiding this little piece of engineering) . The other complaint is that some of the compass is plastic. It doesn't require Einstein to examine both the marketing photo's, and the features listed at the top of the page (plastic and metal) to know what you're ordering. It's dishonest to complain that it's plastic after you ordered something that is listed as partially plastic. There is no play in the plastic and it's sturdy. There is a vast difference between, I don't like it and it is defective. Conclusion: Compass works fine. No issues with accuracy. You'll find youtube video's with individuals creating great geometric art with this compass. But for what it is, I think it's a bit over priced so I took a star off as well as not having any directions that tells you how to tighten the screw. It wasn't obvious to a couple of reviewers and I had to play with it to figure it out.

Good compass it wasn't my first choice, my first choice was a cheap compass from Mr Pen but it didn't have the feel of a professional tool, the Staedtler looks and feels like serous equipment and the included accessories are a nice touch

Preso scontato, l'ho preso a mia figlia per le elementari e quest'anno se lo ritrova per le medie. Rispetto ai compassi economici, che probabilmente avrei pagato di più, è perfetto per la scuola. Soprattutto per un bambino rimane solidale nella posizione grazie alla frizione. Si potrebbero trovare difetti solo se ragionato in modo professionale. Non ho riscontrato un lasco tale da deformare la circonferenza. Per la scuola è più che ottimo

It is just amazing. The weight is perfect and the build is sturdy because of the German engineering. 100% recommended for constructions. Plus you really get to show off with this compass.
