Best rug backer by far
By far the best area rug backing - everything else on the market pales in comparison to this product. We have many rugs that need this kind of backing because of regular foot traffic and 2 dogs, and this is the only one to stay in place and provide a nice cushioned feel as well. Pay the extra bucks and be satisfied, very much worth it.

Perfect for purpose
The pad is just as advertised. Was easy to place on floor and put rug on. This is not a plush, thick, bouncy pad and that is just what I wanted. I just wanted something that would prevent carpet from damaging wood floor and keep carpet put because...dogs must run in circles nightly and they feel they must do so on only this carpet. SO the pad is doing a great job.PS the company is also awesome. I thought a porch pirate had absconded with my pad (why I wondered would...anyway) and contacted them about if there would be a sale as mine was stolen. They sent me another pad immediately.

Not soft felt
Word of caution, the one side is NOT felt, but made of hard nylon/plastic fibers. If you accidentally put this side on wood floors it would definitely scratch the floors. It also needed to be cut (not difficult) on edges to hide it from view. Our color received was a green (like fake grass) so you certainly wouldn't want any to peek through. It holds a reversible 8x10 rug well without it sliding around.

Inaccurate web description
Unfortunately this It is not 1/4 inch thick. The pad is not a pad but a rubber backed piece of felt. It looked nice but I need padding with the rubber grip backing. It was not even 1/8 inch thick.

Prickly works well!!
Has good prickly grip. Keeps rug in place from both sides.

Easy to cut down to the size of my rug
Easy to cut down to the size of my rug. Its not to thin and not too thick. Keeps my rug in place and gives the rug just the right amount of cushy comfort when standing on it.

but going underneath an oriental rug and your underlay has the softness on top and the non-slip on the bottom so it should be perfect, especially as it seems to be what you ...
