The All Chicken variety is much, much better....
These suffer two major flaws that are related, and I'm comparing the same brand chips that are all chicken where these are a chicken/turkey mix. Since these meats can't be cut into this size and shape, is reasonable to guess they are made by steam cooking the poultry, machanically removing the bones then grinding the meat to a paste, adding other ingredients, then press forming the already drying chips into shape then drying under heat - pure guesswork, but my point is that the size of the chips is somewhat constrained by the fiber of the meat. These Turkey/chicken ones are as much as 2x thicker and much harder than the all chicken chips. The all chicken variety can be easily broken or even crushed by hand and these might just shatter in a nutcracker - not a recommendation, but these I've actually failed to break by hand and as other reviewers have written, the edges are sharp enough to cut your hand or your dogs mouth. I didn't even realize there difference at retail at first, one way to tell us read the label carefully: these are called "Prime Chips" while the 5-star ones I now buy are "Prime Chips Chicken".

Happy dog great treats
Our dog loves these. We love that they are made in the USA and safe and our dog is little so he has to chew them a bit. They are hard to don’t stick to his teeth. Love these. Highly recommend. Rating 5 stars for flavor bc my dog is picky and loves these so they must taste great to him - ha.

Yuck
Our terrier wouldn’t touch them. Gave them to my daughter for her rotties. They wouldn’t touch it either. They are hard as a rock and I didn’t notice any smell at all in the bag I got. I don’t know what they do to the meat it claims during processing but it ends up looking and feeling like fake plastic disks.

Dangerous treat
Always bought these for my dachshunds. They love the taste and size. They disappeared from stores and I wondered why. Now I know. They are sliced so thick prior to baking that they are sharp and a choking/intestinal HAZARD. My older Dixie couldn't chew them. My year-old almost broke his teeth. But I guess the flavor is still good

Not for the small dog
This is a great product but unfortunately it is not meant for small dogs. The chips are very hard and the fear of a small dog chipping or breaking a tooth is a clear reality. I have however made the best of what I had I take a few chips at a time soak them in water to soften them and my dog eats them. They’re good for a larger dog with stronger teeth but as I said not for a small dog. That’s why I rated it at three.

Good treats, but inconsistent
My small dogs absolutely love these treats. I order them several bags at a time. Since they changed them last year, the treats are super hard. I use heavy duty utility scissors to cut them in two. I was concerned about the hardness since one of my dogs is missing a few teeth but she manages to eat them. The last bag I opened was actually not hard. I am able to break them apart with my hands. This much nicer to deal with and better for my little dogs. I hope they keep them this way. I used to buy a brand made in China, which was definitely better quality, but not worth the risk.Update: The chicken treats from this same brand are alot better. They can be broken in half by hand. It's the only one I'll order from now on.

Favorite Brand - Didn't like this flavor
My dog, and every dog I've given smokehouse "chicken chips" to has become addicted to them. My dog loves the original chicken, so I bought all the flavors. I really didn't like the texture of the chicken and turkey variety. They seem much thinner and more brittle than the others; a lot easier for the dog to cut their mouths/throat on when chewing/swallowing. Many of the ones in the bag I got seemed to be melded together with others in the bag or peetered out into thin pieces.Love the other varieties, but will probably skip this one in the future.

how to watch your older dogs with hard chews.
My dog loves this product, especially the turkey chips. But you do need to watch them on older dogs, as they don't chew them to well.

Another item loved by the family Bichon
Another item loved by the family Bichon. He has no trouble crunching these up and it was nice to get chicken AND turkey instead of just chicken. We'd been ordering another brand but they've been back ordered and the "chicken chips" have become his favourite treat. Luckily we found this brand and this bag is a good size. The price is reasonable and, like the other pet treats, were fresh and marked with a best before label. I'm sure he'd give this 6 stars if he could.

Hard as rocks..not for small dogs
These could only be chewed by very large dogs as they are extremely hard and thick - so hard, we can't even snap them in half by hand. We have a Bichon cross dog and he struggled to break them up. I had to put them in a bag and smash them with a steak mallett to get them to break. A big dog would have no trouble but if you have a small dog, they are not suitable.
