The digital readout allows for accurate measurement of water pressure required when calculating heat of rejection and heat of extraction of geothermal units. It also enables calculating gpm and tonnage of chill water and hot water fancoils when you also have the Cv rating of the control valve. I highly recommend the protective boot for this gauge.Update:As of January 2020 and this gauge is still holding up.

High quality and definately worth the investment

Was excited when I first got this product because I needed something more accurate than my Rainbird water pressure gauge. Upon arrival I opened the box and I was pleasantly surprised that they included a 9 volt battery (thoughtful as most vendors won't do this).I set out and started measuring the water pressure in my building, especially the 12th floor (top floor) where I suspected there was an issue causing pressure drops. After about 13 readings on the floor the gauge started to malfunction. At first, it wouldn't zero out, then when it did, it would give me very imprecise readings (I had to check this with a friend's calibrated gauge).So unfortunately, I am sending this for return but I'm hoping I just got one of those random duds. I'll repurchase this item and if it performs better I'll be back to complete my review!
