Great CPU, fast and quiet and only £4 more expensive than the 200GE
Yes, the Ryzen 3 2200G is the best value for money, but the 240GE is £54 when the 2200G is £89. You do get a bit more than half the performance than that of the 2200G so indeed the Ryzen is money well spent, so long as you want to spend it. If you don't and you want to keep your budget to a minimum, the the 240GE offers about 15% more performance than the 200GE which for the extra £4 compared to the base model, is a nice bump. This is a very fast CPU with decent graphics for a home PC, to play videos, browse the web, use office and with a cheap SSD and (now cheap) B350 based motherboard (I got mine from Amazon warehouse, cheap) makes a very fast little PC. Graphics performance is not really that strong in 3D for gaming, and even at 720p you will need to take quality settings down. If you need an APU for gaming, the 2200G is the one to use, or the 2400G if you can afford the extra. If you can't, and you need to stay in the £50 margin, look at the (older and weaker) A8-9600. While the CPU is weaker than the Ryzen based Athlon 240GE, the GPU is fairly stronger and that APU might produce better gaming experience.

OMG OMG OMG :)
O M G I have owned a lot of very high end workstations. Even with dual xenons and multi you. All custom wc with acrylic tubes :) But this little boy is fast and the system is responsive with ssd :) working like a charm. I think this is an ideal cpu for like 90% of people :) I have overclocked it to 3.8 with 1.38 and for sure it can go 3.9. Very nice cpu. Very fast system. I am shocked. For the price it is a bargain. You have to buy it. For me it is a placeholder for Ryzen 3000 1000000 cores :) tomorrow we will know the details :) just buy this little bastard ! :)

Excellent Value "Silent" Chip for everyday computing and even light gaming.
I had compatability issues with software I'm running, other than that an excellent value chip that can be passively cooled. Its even good for light gaming.

Super-cheap works well for most games
Bought when there were a few offers running on Amazon and paid £37 for mine, so it was a bargain. I benchmarked it in a few games like PUBG, Apex Legends and you *can* play at around 30-40fps at 720p with a 50% internal resolution and dynamic frame compensation, but it's pretty terrible. I use it with an RX570 and it plays all those e-sports titles at 60fps @ 1080p. I've now re-tasked it in a thin-itx build and it's fantastic because it's only 35W TDP and run nice and cool. Talking of which, the default cooler is just fine - quiet and cool enough so that 60-70 degrees is about max temperature under load. With a Gigabyte B450 motherboard you can also overclock it to 3.9GHz from 3.2GHz, which raises the Cinebench r15 score from about 320 to 450 - which is an amazing boost for the money. At the £37 price I paid for this, it's a real bargain - at the £55 price bracket it often hovers at I'd recommend either a Ryzen 3 1200 or 2200G, depending on your needs.

Perfect for an Office PC
I recently used this CPU for an office PC build for a customer and have been very impressed. Having looked online prior to purchasing for reviews etc, the internet was awash with reviews based on its gaming performance which seems to be low. Seems to me that most people are missing the point here as this CPU is ideal for an Office or simple home PC build as you don't require a discreet graphics card. Paired with an SSD the system flies and is very responsive in Windows 10. For less than £50 this is a bargain chip and I'll definately be using it again for future builds. Oh, and it's only has a TDP of 35w which means less heat and noise too.

Speed / Performance / Overclock
This is the cheapest new CPU I have ever purchased £45.49, known as an APU as it dose have graphics onboard, ok for desk top stuff but NOT for games. Been playing with the settings for a few days now, 3000G is running at 3.95Ghz @ 1.45v, ( 3.5Ghz stock )graphics running at 1650Ghz @ 1.2v ( 1100Ghz stock ), RAM @ 3200Mhz, idle temp 30Deg, max 70Deg but not with stock cooler (Ryzen Wraith Stealth) . As I use Cad on a daily basis I have been testing the Athlon 3000G against my Ryzen 5 2400G, on multi core applications the the 2400G was always going to win, but AutoCad is not an multi core application and the 3000G is a little quicker than the 2400G, in case you are interested the 2400G is also running at the same speeds as to 3000G, if I was a betting man I would say the 3000G is a 2400G cut in half, I can only explain the speed difference is due to the 2400G being second generation and the 3000G being third generation, zen / zen+ technology. 3D Cad dose work but would be better with any Pci-e dedicated graphics card.

Make sure you have an up to date bios for the chip and that you motherboard supports
This is for a PC that will only ever either watch you tube or play small games like rob-lox, Fornite and Minecraft, as a push you can play AAA titles please research this on you tube, for under $50 this is simply the best chip that has built in graphics, the chip can be over clocked, but don;t expect miracles it performs well at stock, but as with all zen based architecture make sure you get fast ram it does make a difference and could yield you extra performance. I know due core with SMT might not sound alot but for a home theatre or start PC for a child there simply is not a better alternative for under the $50/pound mark.

Perfect Home PC CPU
If you just want a home PC, and maybe play some low end or classic games then this is perfect. Coupled with a good SSD this was just as fast at office tasks as my 4yr old i5 which when new cost x5 this Note that this Athlon does have built in graphics (not all the AMD line do) this means this will work without a GPU - if you buy eg a Ryzen 3 1200 (which is similar to this) it needs a graphics card - hence I think this Athlon 3000G is great value for money! Its on the AM4 motherboard platform so you can upgrade to some really fast kit without the need to buy a new mobo for some years to come

Paired this with an AsRock DeskMini A310; more than sufficient for my use case. Suggest to pair with 16GB of DDR4 memory to ensure sufficient RAM for the APU.
