How to use this tester.
It worked well. The instructions were not helpful. Quick breakdown of how to use this: 1: Take what looks like a white clored pencil (cleaner) and rub it on the surfaces where the alligator clip comes in contact and where you intend to touch the test piece to the machine. 2: there is a liquid that comes with this machine in a small dropper. Fill up the cound test area on the machine to create a small puddle (about 3 to 4 drops) 3: press the button that corresponds with the type of gold being tested. Once the machine lights up wait untill the lights on the carot indicator go dark. 4: place the part of the gold test piece you cleaned earlier to the little puddle of solution in the test area and hold it there. If it's real gold, the test light will flash or be solid for a brief moment, then the corresponding carot light will show. If it's not gold the red "not gold" light will light up. Hope this helps.

Didn’t work!!! What if way too long for a machine that could be considered to me accurate in these time. Garage and some how making me pay for rerun shipping? Haha wrong person!

Couldn’t figure out how to get a true reading
It seemed as though my tests could not get accurate reading. I think the machine is probably a high quality machine. I think the issue was my own lack of knowledge on using this device.

Very accurate and simple to use as long as you follow the directions very carefully. Great item.....already sold scrap gold to pay for itself!

Doesn't work, ripped off on return.
Ordered this. I was very excited to think I was getting a product like this. It didn't work. My husband and I both followed the instructions to the letter, and it did not work. The place we ordered it from sent the same instructions it didn't work. It told us a 24k coin was 12k, and a fork in the drawer was 20k. So I sent it back, and instead of getting the $179 back for a defective product, or the 15% restocking fee, they charged me 24% or $43. Do not take the chance on this item. Save your money.
