Maltese puppy loves the pad, but also loves to chew/eat the steel cord's plastic coating.If we remove the "coating" over the steel cased cord which is inside her crate, would this be safe?

Great heating pad. Dogs and cats both love it. Only negative is it doesn't have automatic shut-off so we have to remember to turn it off ourselves. Worth the price though!

I bought this for a cat that had had surgery and it is a terrific product. The temperature can be selected in 5 degree increments and the manufacturer suggests that for a cat, 40 degrees C is right, and that works well for my cat. Before I put him on it for the first time, I put a heavy book on it so that it would be pre-warmed. The product info states that it only heats when the pet is actually on the pad. Wanted him to experience it warm so that he'd "get it" -- that that was a good spot to sleep. It warmed because of the book's weight, I put him on it, and it worked like a charm. I don't have to worry about him getting cold anymore. Not sure if it would be OK outside, but the cords are very well protected and insulated. This product really delivers!

It was nice and warm, but only worked a few months.

After reading some reviews I wanted to use for a few months to determine durability and longevity. Our adult cat has been enjoying this extra warmth at the foot of our bed for 5months. It does not seem real warm at first touch but it’s low consistent heat is exactly what cats love. The only issue I’ve experienced is if the electrical cord or control get moved abruptly it will shut off so before you assume it’s not heating due to malfunction reset the control. The convenient cover is easy to remove and wash. This is a safe way to offer a warm cozy bed for your small dog or cat that they will love year round.

We used this inside our Wooden Cat House this past Winter. The CatHouse stays out on the porch, and it does get cold here. This warming pad worked very well -- I like that I can adjust the heat -- minimum for mildly cold weather, and I step it up a couple of clicks for those nights when its down in the 20s.My only complaint is that when the Power Goes Out, I have to remember to go out and Re-Set the Temperature Setting -- otherwise, it is OFF. But, it survived the entire winter, and we plan to continue using it next year.

Headfirst this was an excellent product, and kept our little cup warm for about three or four nights, before it completely stopped working. Nothing we did can turn it back on. After four nights when we plugged it in and turned it on the The light simply grew dim in the product was in operable. I wish I had read more of the reviews to see that this happened to more than myself, but I was hopeful and positive but now I have learned better. Now we have to find another heating pad for a little dog, and I’m not even sure if I can attempt to get any money back.

Great little heater for my dogs crate. I have a 9lb dachshund and she’s always seeking warmth. It fits perfectly in her little bed in her crate. She loves it so much that she goes in and lays on it even when the door is open cause it’s so warm. The adjustable heat setting are super nice so I can move the control a little lower in the spring and higher in the winter. We’ve had it for about 9 months and not one problem. The cord is heavy duty and the cover is washable which is very nice. Great purchase!

Mon oiseau inséparable a besoin de chaleur pour nos longs mois d’hiver, je lui installe une couverture sur ce tapis chauffant et il est très heureux de se cacher à la chaleur du tapis.Le seul commentaire négatif serait la température, elle va par espace de 10F ( 75F, 85F,…) et de 5C ( 25C, 30C,…) j’aurais aimé le savoir avant. Ça ne me donne pas une grande sélection de choix de température.

We have an outdoor cat house for the stray cats that come around, and in the winter, it gets super cold here (like -40F/C). The cat house is insulated, but we needed a heat source. This mat is well made and durable. The cord has a sheathing to protect it from chewing and weather. The controls allow you to adjust the temperature, not just the heat output. Highly recommended

It does a good job of heating only when the cat lays on it but the material is cheap and flimsy. After only 1 month of use during a very mild (for our area) winter we have holes everywhere in the product. The fabric cover is full of holes and the stitches on 1 end have completely given out. I have had to reinforce all the edges with tape because the interior portion was falling out and ive had to resew the end to keep the cover in place. The zipper is also really cheap and keeps opening on its own so the heating pad cover slides right off the plastic mat.This product also requires that you push the power button to turn the mat on and off which is fine until you have a power failure and the mat doesn't turn back on with the return of power. Our barn cats kept stepping on remote and turning it off. We are now using it only until a heating block arrives that we can mount on the side of the cat house so that we can have peace of mind that they are warm and not have to worry about this defective product starting a fire. Not worth your money in my opinion.

Using for outdoor cat shelter only in extreme cold conditions. Cats prefer the heat in very cold temps as they are used to some cooler outdoor conditions.

I purchased this item for my outdoor cat house. The description clearly states OUTDOOR use (see photo-says makes you pet warm and comfortable during cold winter).I opened the mat and took the cover off and the heating mat says INDOOR use only (see photo)Useless to me now.Don’t be fooled, it’s not for outdoor use as stated.
