Global Material Technologies Tank Duel: Enemy in The Crosshairs

Tank Duel is war game of Tank Battles on the East Front between the Germans and Russians, that is fast, furious ,very tense, and, most importantly, totally fun! It is on the lower complexity side of Wargames, so, if you are not a experienced gamer, you should be able to get the rules down fairly quickly(there is a nice example in the playbook that walk you through a few turns of an example game, which clarifies how it all works) once you give it a shot.Many of the famous tanks are here, Panzers and T34s, for example, along with many other tanks and tank destroyers, so you have a great variety of battle matchups. There are many scenarios, from a straight battle to fighting in a city, along with optional rules for AT guns and Infantry, so the replayability is great. Plus, there are two expansions on the way(as of my writing of this review) that will add the British, more German Tanks, North Africa/Desert combat, etc.Give this a try...you won’t be disappointed!

I love this game. At first glance, casual gamers will be intimidated. There are lots of rules and the cards and tank boards both contain a lot of information.Here's my advice. Give the game a chance. Underneath all the crunchy numbers and multi-functional cards, Tank Duel is a game that embraces the chaos of the battlefield and the thrill of catastrophes. Each hit brings surprises: does the tank explode? Does the commander survive? Does everyone escape just before the fire gets out of control?You can play this game by yourself or revel in the destruction with your friends. Both ways, you will have a lot of fun.

Have enjoyed this game with 2-4 players. The challenge is to understand the goal - get points. In the beginning, all of us were too focused on protecting our tank. After a couple games, we began to realize the game becomes better once you view the tanks as "resources" and then play hard.You'll lose tanks, but as long as the other guy is losing more, you're good. That's where the card play and maneuvering comes in.Here, the game shines.If you like tanks and head-to-head battles - highly recommend.

Tank Duel is a fast-paced unique game about tank combat. As with other GMT games I've purchased, the quality of the components is incredible. I'm very happy with this purchase.

This could be a great game, except that it requires way too much play detail. IMHO the developer needs to work out a way to remove some of the card draws. There are times when you have to draw up to 5 cards just to do one thing. I'm trying to figure a way to replace some of those many card draws with a dice roll. Graphics and game pieces are top notch. I have to play solitaire. The solitaire example of game play uses 6 TANKS. Why would they do that to a beginner? It really stretched the learning mode into a tedious effort in boredom. I had to shelf this game until I come up with some home rules to make this game more enjoyable for me.
