Frog and Toad enjoy spending their days together. They fly kites, celebrate Toad's birthday, and share the shivers when Frog tells a scary story. Most of all, they have fun together—every day of the year. Days with Frog and Toad is a Level Two I Can Read book, geared for kids who read on their own but still need a little help. Whether shared at home or in a classroom, the engaging stories, longer sentences, and language play of Level Two books are proven to help kids take their next steps toward reading success. The classic Frog and Toad stories by Arnold Lobel have won numerous awards and honors, including a Newbery Honor ( Frog and Toad Together ), a Caldecott Honor ( Frog and Toad Are Friends ), ALA Notable Children’s Book, Fanfare Honor List (The Horn Book), School Library Journal Best Children’s Book, and Library of Congress Children’s Book. The series has also been adapted into a Broadway Musical and an Emmy-nominated animated series on Apple TV+. Review: Clever - Excellent book. Incredibly clever. Parents will enjoy the stories too! Review: A very decent, heartwarming book - Like all of the Frog and Toad series, this is a heartwarming series of stories which are also witty in a way which children can appreciate. Children will smile when they read this book and I smiled re-reading it myself. This is a good collection of stories for kids and it's therapeutic for adults as well.

The Beloved Days with Frog and Toad
My daughter's nursery is decked out in Frogs, so the discovery of these books made them books we had to consider. They are fun and the illustrations are grest. At eleven months she is too young to read them herself, but we read them to her - and she enjoys them. The stories are simple with a central theme - do good for others, treat your friends with respect, help your firends when they need help, laugh, and aporach life with adventure. These are great virtues to instill in young minds. If the books were made in cardboard stock, Teah would be even more happy with them - as it is she frequently grabs one of them when it's time for her bedtime story - and great bedtime stories they are. By the time she starts to read she will know the stories by heart, but that's ok - fond memeories of bedtime stories like these should help her build a lifelong interest in reading on her own.

Timeless classic
I bought this book for my 1st-grade granddaughter. It was recommended by my daughter who teaches 1st grade. She could read almost all of it. Because she lives a bit away, I get the e-book at my library and we video-chat and read this book together. It's a great way to connect. Toad is grumpy and funny. Frog is the optimist. I remember reading this with my kids. It is relatable and gives the kids confidence in reading a "chapter" book. It takes us about 5-10 minutes to read each chapter with me reading one page and her reading the other. It's the perfect book for early readers.

Our daughter's favorite Frog and Toad book
Our daughter's favorite frog and toad book by far she loves the one with the shivers That's her favorite story within the book and honestly these books are just so pleasant to read as a parent because of how simple they are and the stories are cute and creative this is probably one of the best children's authors for very young children in my opinion. I remember that some of the first books I ever read myself were also frog and toad so I plan on getting a lot of the use out of these stories and that she'll be able to read them again herself as she gets older and learns how to read .

The older I get, the more I love them
The older I get, the more I love these stories and telling them to kids. They reveal so much about human nature and friendship and are quite humorous in a slow paced, comforting way.

Community Profile: A Wonderful Friendship
Being good friends can make life sweet and fulfilling. That is what we see with one of our favorite neighborhood pal pairs, Frog and Toad, the subject of this week's "Community Profile." As we all know, Frog and Toad are good friends. When Toad was in the dumps, literally: his house was a dump and he was in it and depressed about it, Frog was there for his friend to point out what he needed to do and Toad was able to realize what he needed to do, get his chores done, get out of the dumps and really enjoy life again. Frog didn't judge Toad and say "You are bad," nor did he reject him as hopeless but he didn't do Toad's chores for him either; he was there for Toad while Toad got himself out of the dumps and Felt much better. Frog and Toad do fun things together like flying kites. Frog encourages Toad to keep going when he wants to give up, and Toad keeps trying at Frogs encouragement until they succeed and enjoy their success together. Frog and Toad entertain each other, like the time Frog had Toad over for tea by the fireplace in comfortable chairs and Frog told such a scary story that he gave them both the shivers. They share special occasions together, like birthdays, feeling each other's sadness or joy, and when things go wrong, sacrificing to make them right. Sometimes they might have misunderstandings and insecurities, but they reassure each other and appreciate each other's efforts. Frog and Toad are a great example of "best friendship." "Days with Frog and Toad", by Arnold Lobel is a charming and heart-warming look at friendship in five chapters or "days." Every child should read this marvelous synopsis of a "best friendship" and have an adult explain the subtleties of building and maintaining great relationships.

A childhood classic!
Just as I remember it from my youth. My son, 5, loves the pictures. It would be a good book to have in hardback!
