They'll do the job, just.
First off, to the muppets writing bad reviews about these.. this item is designed to pull the brake on your trailer in the event it breaks loose from the hitch, nothing more. Not tether it to your vehicle.They will definitely do that, but after they've done that once you'll need a new one.

Not fit for purpose
The breakaway cable is not fit to use with a caravan when it will be needed to pull breaks on it.This is more suitable for a trailer when no breaks are needed to be used, more just to stop it running away if it jumped the ball. Perhaps the description should include weight it can safely be used with.

That it does the job if required.
Simple to fix to exiting shackles. Only criticism is it's a bit thin so maybe need 2 of them for better strength. Mine original cable was thicker and I didn't take this into account when ordering. Nothing wrong with this cable though.
