The Courier [DVD]

Spoilt by some crap acting
A fair romp but by god the Agent Bryant character was so badly acted it was ruined by being unbelievable. The actor was clearly going for something but it didn't fit the film and was unconvincing. a bit like watching Star Wars with Darth Vader played by Peppa the Pig, but worse.Other than that the Daughter character was basically Ivanka Trump (complete with the Daddy Daughter thing going on). Perhaps the incompetent Agent was supposed to be the Jared Kushner character by being incompetent but actually believing he was really good. As an action film parodying the Trumps it was funny.Worth a watch but my over riding thought is that the producers and directors screwed up letting this one out for people to see. I imagine the investors are a bit annoyed too.

Delivered
Kurylenko does not fit the role of a military-grade innocent courier who ends up fighting hit-men to protect a state witness from death. Lots of things do not fit, including a fight scene in a car park when all the power had been shut down. In the first part everyone, including Kurylenko, could not see a thing - until she wore her hi-tech motorcycle helmet with infra red lenses. In the continued fight, suddenly everyone could see in the dark.Amit Shah is the foul-mouth, wimpy witness, and his performance is barely passable. That said, the film is a fast-moving drama full of action, some of which are gory. If we want a quick action movie to while away the time, this is a good one. Between a 3 and 4 star.

Only for if you're bored or have a thing for Olga Kurylenko.
The action isn't bad but the story is pretty dreadful.Nearly the whole film takes place in a building with a multi-storey carpark that apparently no one else works in or uses.A man in witness protection is 'seemingly' kidnapped and all of the police protecting him are brutally murdered, yet for the rest of the film no police, army etc appear to try and save/recover him until the hero has killed all the bad guys...I digress, again its not a bad action film but I've seen a lot better.

Modest female version of Trasporter (and sequel)
It is a rambling action film from the plot already seen. There is yet another witness against the boss, the traitorous agents, our heroine (former special forces, how are you wrong?) Who from parcel transporter (but really needed that transport, in that context?) Becomes the Terminator. The action is not lacking, but in the film there are a series of inconsistencies (the chase in the garage with hyper-technological weapons but cars, all open, set in motion by connecting the wires, the "little super" superkiller, the talkative traitor, who speaks instead of acting ). The "surprise" ending leaves open the possibility of a sequel, but I doubt it will come. Let's say that if the genre amuses you, you can watch it. One time.

trashy low budget action flick
Low-budget B-movie action flick, which apparently aims to be 'Salt' or 'Atomic Blonde' with a kick-ass female protagonist thumping seven bells out of the opposition. Sadly it feels more like 'Die Hard In A Multi-Storey Car Park'… minus Bruce. Or anything resembling a plot. Or actors.Speaking of whom, the only actual thesp is Gary Oldman. He attempts to recreate his brilliant performance as the batsnit bad guy in Leon, and fails, dismally.Even so, Oldman's limited time on screen is a welcome relief from the running fight in a parking garage, which involves the courier of the title trying to defend a witness from being offed by a bunch of thugs. There’s lots of thumping, grunting and bleeding; random gunfights with bullets that don’t seem able to hit anything, and a BMW motorcycle which can apparently accelerate through fifteen or more gears. And comes with a HUD. Who knew?Recommended to us by someone we thought was a friend. To think, we paid 99p to watch this!4/10

Someone is missing from the credits?
I couldn't see anyone acknowledged for Credibility?Oh, wait...I wasn't expecting much (well, actually I was for the inflated rental price), but boy. The fight scenes are hilariously bad, it was like it was choreographed by someone doing a school project. And the weapon research? Come on... I really hate giving bad reviews on films because they must be incredibly hard to make but they are made to watched by an audience. Who should know.

Disappointing
Decent setup of Die Hard in a multi-story car park but squanders it with low budget action and weak villains (Gary Oldman literally just sits in a chair looking bored, the other one hams it up to the nth degree). Kurylenko is great but the film wastes her character with bad dialogue and ABC plotting.

Coiuld have been great but nds up only OK
Deserter female soldier is a motor bike courier who saves a man whom she was delivering a package to. Lots of fights and action sequences. Sadly thgis film could have been a great film but +falls short, that bsaid it is an OK film if you dissengage your brain before watching.
