This is the perfect travel chess set! 7.5 inches is not too big or too small. I use this set for my individual practice sessions including completing chess puzzles and mimicking play from my ipad. I don’t mind playing on the computer but I like to make the moves on an actual board. I like that I can take this game everywhere with me. I was super impressed by the quality of the board and the pieces. Each piece is strongly magnetized so pieces stay in place on the board until moved by you. The bottom of the board has green felt and so does the bottom of each piece. The finish on each piece and the board is smooth and very appealing to the eye. It also came with a green felt bag for carrying the set. This item ships from India via FedEx. No problems at all with shipping and packaging. It’s wrapped in bubble wrap and then placed in a sturdy box before being placed in the FedEx package.

The metal clasp sticks out when you unfold to play, it’s annoying. The magnets are horrible and weak. The storage mechanism is also annoying and takes time to pop each piece back into its slot (would have been better providing a couple small bags to put pieces in..not the quality I was expecting from this brand.

I love studying chess right before sleeping and this is the perfect chess set for this. I have tried two other sets and this is by far the best. Definitely worth the price. The craftmanship is amazing and I love the feel of the real wood compared to the cheap plastic of a different set I tried.There is felt on the bottom of the board that keeps it from sliding around when I have it one my bed and I love that it doesn't fold in half. Makes it much easier to move around while keeping the pieces in place. Also love the drawer it comes with. Very satisfying how it clicks into place and holds the pieces very well. Nice to have a place to put the pieces as they get captured. With a different set I had to keep a bowl next to the bed to put the pieces into since there was no good place to store them.Shipped very quickly and was well packaged. It is also a great size - big enough to clearly see what is going on to and be able to pick up and move the pieces, but small enough to fit comfortably on my nightstand on my stack of books.If you are considering buying this, do it! It is more expensive than other options on Amazon but the quality is well worth it.
