Great Concept Book that Delivers Useful Information & Delicious Recipes A+++++++++++
Love her blog and the cookbook. She gives a review of cancer-fighting ingredients and discusses strategies for dealing with taste changes related to cancer/treatment. Don't be intimidated if some recipes look to have a lot of ingredients at first glance. She makes great use of herbs & spices & ingredients that are generally staples in the kitchen, e.g., paprika, cumin, cinnamon, garlic, vanilla, onions, celery, dijon mustard, dried or canned beans, eggs, canned salmon, rice. She has a great recipes for "Ginger Meatballs" that she puts in a chicken soup and I think they would be great on their own. They are made with chicken or turkey, have garlic, ginger & parsley and are gluten free. She uses some ancient/non-rice grains like farro ("Simple Tuscan Farro" that you can portion and freeze) and barley ("Ma's Mushroom Barley Soup" that includes shiitake mushrooms). She has a great Cucumber Avocado soup for cooling mouth or digestive sores/sensitivity. She offers up creative recipes that are simple and basic but yummy, like Basil Broccoli and a beautiful Shredded Carrot and Beet Salad. And family standards are included as well, like a boneless, skinless chicken dish--"My Family's Favorite Chicken" recipe or a whole chicken--"Orange Ginger Roasted Chicken." And for dessert or a snack, how about a Cantaloupe Granita with Mint that has only 5 ingredients counting the cantaloupe and mint! She does call for her "Magic Mineral Broth" in some recipes, but you can make a batch and freeze portions for later use. Also, understandably, if it's a Thai dish then you will need traditional Thai ingredients too, e.g., fresh ginger, lemongrass (or substitute some lemon), kaffir lime leaves or a teaspoon of lime zest (she gives directions on substituting), coconut milk, and maybe rice noodles.

it provides recipes that are easy, quick to use and tastes good
I normally do not take the time to right a review and I give this five starts. Not only is it a wealth of information so desperately needed, it provides recipes that are easy, quick to use and tastes good. When I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, my heart sunk not only because of the C word, I was nervous and afraid of all the negative things I heard about chemo and going through the disease. Rebecca, I want to send you not only a big thank you but lots of hug and kisses.I own many cookbooks and they look beautiful on a book shelf. This book is used daily, I have mastered some of the recipes, and made some tweaks for my taste. I have shared the meals with my family (who LOVED many of them). I do believe that the expertise and knowledge of the contents of this book has really kept my side effects to a minimum. Lastly, I have a renewed sense of well being and learning much about nutrition thanks to you!!! xoxo

A Fabulous Resource as well as Cookbook
This book was a amazing. It was a great resource while my husband was going through cancer treatment for lymphoma especially the chemo. The magic mineral broth kept him nourished when he felt his worst. A year later and in remission and I still use the magic mineral broth. During chemo treatment he would feel the worse for 10 days following the chemo. I would make him chicken soup with the magic mineral broth and he would eat for those 10 days straight. It was the only thing that tasted good to him, felt good in twisted up stomach and stayed down.I used other recipes as well throughout the treatment and the first chapter was a huge resource on how to adjust recipes to deal with the variety of symptoms that popped along the course of treatment and recovery.Furthermore the recipes taste good for those not going through treatment so I did have to cook separately for him and it was nice to eat the same things together.I recommend this book all the time for those going through cancer, their caregiver, and people who are going through extreme health issues and need nourishment.

Really Good Recipes
My sister is currently receiving chemotherapy. This book has proven to be a valuable resource because with every meal there is an opportunity to do something good for your body whilst it goes through so much. I have given my sister the book, but I'm definitely borrowing recipes from it. I have seen a few reviewers stating that if you are a chemotherapy patient living alone, some of the recipes require a lot of energy to complete. Although true, some may find it a labor of self love and support for themselves. In addition to some very tasty recipes that all can enjoy, the book targets those who may suffer a lot of nausea or stomach issues. Not to mention nutritional support for anemia, neutropenia, etc.My sister and I have had a good time nourishing ourselves and supporting her body and this book has made that path easier.

It has many good recipes and ideas and although I have not tried ...
I have purchased several copies before and shared my copy that is being paid-forward for family and friends who have been diagnosed and receiving treatment for cancer. Back in 2012 when I was searching for immune boosting health ideas for my own family, I came across this book in my search and ordered it. It has many good recipes and ideas and although I have not tried them all the wisdom in its pages is comforting and the best recipe I use over and over again is the nourishing Bone Broth Soup and its variations. It makes 12 500 ml mason jars of soup that I can put in the freezer and pull out, as required, and is an easy way to deliver to friends who can pull out some nourishment without having to prepare.I can't wait for the new edition to come out in 2017!

A book for life.
The recipes are all based on using fresh, healthy ingredients in a tasty way. During chemo I didn't lose my appetite so was able to cook every day. But there were days when I felt I needed an extra boost and turned to Magic Broth. The book is informative about the value of different fruits, vegetables, and proteins when you have cancer, or are working hard at helping to prevent a reoccurrence. Many of the recipes demand a bit of time at the stove for the patient or the caregiver - but so worth it if you want to give your body the best chance of dealing with cancer and it's treatment.

Excellent
Very good book, recipes are simple and taste great. All the recipes I tired tasted good and were quick to make. I'm very impressed by this book and how its organized and with the Recipes. Lots of helpful tips if you are cooking for someone with Cancer. There are drinks for when someone is on Chemo that help with the discomfort and just general tip on simple things that make a difference. The Avocado dressing recipe is so simple that when I'm pressed for time I just make a batch and store it the Fridge. The various Dip recipes can be made with Canned Beans or You can soak and cook the beans yourself. One thing that impressed me is that the food is not boring or bland, it has spices in it and has flavor so it can be enjoyed.

But well done for some very good tips a nd recipes. I would recommend this book to anyone who is on chemo and have recommended it.thankyou xx Laura Bryant

Definitely helped put the odds on our side
Within a short couple of months, we found out my dad had prostate and bladder cancer. I freaked out, bought this book and sent a big box of ingredients home (I like a province away). Every time I flew home to check in on his chemo, mum was making him an elixir or a meal from this book... and call me crazy, but he came out of it cancer free! In no small part thanks to my mum's care and attention, but I'm positive that the switch to consciously healthy, ingredient-focused meals helped.
