Jane Iredale PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation SPF 20 Bisque - Refill

My hair dresser told me of another client who used this product and her skin looked beautiful. While it was far more expensive than my current product I thought I would give it a try. I had to buy it at a local salon. When they went out of business I didn't know where I was going to find it. It is the ONLY makeup I wear now, except for lipstick. I am frequently complimented on my skin. It gives it such a flawless look that I have had several doctors question me about my age, thinking I was 20 years younger than it said on my records. Have strangers come up to me all the time complimenting me. I'm always surprised because at my age, I figured compliments were a distant thing of the past. Love, love, love this! I used to use the liquid foundation as well, but this powder does double duty and does not dry out my skin. Can only imagine how it would have made my skin look when I was 20. The only negative is that it doesn't come with a powder puff. Not a deal breaker because I use a brush to apply it. I guess you could buy a third party puff if you need one. LOVE this stuff!

I just bought this foundation and am pleased so far. I am fair skinned (perhaps a shade darker than a red head)and bought the bisque color, which seems to work well for me. Pros: for those concerned with toxicity in cosmetics, this product has an excellent rating on the Environmental Working Group Skin Deep database: [...]. It has sunscreen and a nice selection of colors. It provides good coverage without looking like a mask. It does not have a smell, which is important to me as I hate nasty perfumes in lotions and makeup. Cons: very expensive. Overall I think it was a good purchase. The cost made me hesitate, but as I have skin issues the good rating on EWG plus the sunscreen sold me on it.

I use this powder foundation on my sensitive skin, and it goes on nicely and provides a decent amount of coverage for freckles, etc. I like that this particular powder is largely plant based and good for your skin. It is a little more pricey than drug store cosmetics, but a better product for sure. The only complaint that I have is that you have to buy the compact case separately, and I believe that was a little expensive, given it is plastic.

I have been a devoted Jane Iredale product junkie since the 90s. While I don't love all her products I do absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her pressed powder - especially applied with her Handi Brush (although any powder brush like a kabuki would work). It is a powder that needs to be "buffed" on the skin in tight circles and the SPF is out of this world. SPF is important to me because I'm a natural redhead with a ruddy complexion and freckles for all those years before sunscreen came onto the market in the 80s and even then, growing up and living in Southern California it is impossible to avoid the sun. Just today I had a visit with my dermatologist for a mole patrol and she was very pleased with the condition of my skin and I chalk it up to when I started taking skincare/makeup seriously in my late 20s (I'm now 51). If you can, try to have the powder matched in person (check out her website for an authorized reseller in your area) and then purchase via Amazon because there are very subtle differences in coloring. The range of colors, the last time I looked, is limited so those with darker color skin may not find this brand helpful. However, I also really like that this powder is buildable - usually I just apply enough to provide SPF but keep my skin looking natural (meaning that I'm not wearing heavy makeup so my freckles and natural ruddiness is still visible) but for those times when I want more coverage, I just apply more product.

I used to wear liquid foundation but I got sick of having to apply it every morning and all the chemicals in it. So I gave this stuff a shot and have been wearing it for the past 5 months. I use a pretty small kabuki brush that does a good job of covering but doesn't look too cakey. I would say the powder foundation is probably better for people with relatively decent skin because it does show dry flakes and has a tendency to settle into pores a little more than liquid. The other nice thing is that I could never match my foundation to my face exactly and this stuff blends in really well and I think looks really natural once it's mixed with your facial oils a little. Overall I am really happy with it!

I've got super sensitive skin, and for a period of time was not able to wear any make-up. I discovered this product at my dermatologist's office, and have not looked back. It is a powder that is not a heavy application. I use a kabuki brush to apply it, and a concealer brush sometimes to apply it a bit heavier over blemishes and under eyes. It covers pretty well, and my skin tone evens out nicely when I use this. I do not have oily or dry skin, it's pretty average. I put moisturizer on about 20 minutes before I apply the make up. For a very soft finish to set this powder, sometimes I will spray with a water mist. However the water mist is not a necessity. It tends to make the powder soak in to the skin more and look less powdery. The container lasts me about 3 months or so, however I don't use it every day. If I did, it would probably last about 1-1/2 to 2 months.

I'm a long time user of JI products, and this powder never fails! For all the hundreds I've spent on foundation and powders, this affordable powder blows away all of the pricier competitions. I have ice pick scarring, discoloration, and wrinkles....This powder with a good primer underneath replaces foundation and concealer with excellent coverage that wears well while looking a lot more natural than other products. The new refillable compacts to put them in however are cheap and not worth it. I wish they would bring back the burnished metal cases!

This is the third time I have ordered this product and the product is great!! However this time I received a torn box which was EMPTY, so I can only give a rating of AWFUL since I have sent 3 emails regarding the problem and have received no response!

Attention à toutes celles qui en connaissent pas la marque ! ce produit est une recharge sans etui. C'est une pratique habituelle pour Jane Iredale. L'étui se vend séparément, il est en métal et très facile à utiliser. Une fois l'étui acheté on ne se procure QUE des recharges. Ça fait 10 ans que j'utilise cette poudre régulièrement et je ne suis pas prête à changer. Elle est parfaite.

Since starting to use this face powder I wouldn’t use anything else. It is the perfect shade of colour for me. I have fair skin and the bisque is the perfect match. It’s a bit expensive but cheaper than ordering from the manufacturer

Statt Foundation nur diesen Puder zu nutzen würde mir Zeit ersparen, dachte ich. Stellte aber schon beim ersten Auftrag fest, dass es sich erstens nicht gleichmäßig auf der Haut pudern lässt und zudem die Haut austrocknet. Insgesamt wirkt es auf der Haut caky. Gut ist aber, dass es einen Lichtschutzfaktor enthält und sich nach dem Auftragen nicht verdunkelt.
