Lionel HO Gauge Track, 9" Straight MagneLock Pack of 4

I purchased a lot of Lionel magnelock track in 2020 and 2021 with the plan to build a large layout. I experienced the same problem with power loss all around my layout. I found that if I removed the alignment blocks on each side of the rails, photo 1, I could add rail joiners, photo 2,. You will need a sharp utility knife to carefully cut away the blocks. It takes time, but I don’t have power loss since adding rail joiners. It is also possible to join magnelock track to Bachmann track with removal of alignment parts off both tracks and using rail joiners. Hope this helps.

I like the concept of the magnetic track, however the magnets seen to need to be stronger. It didn’t take much to bump the tracks out of line.

The MagneLock tracks are sooo easy to put together. They just click into place. However, they are a problem if you have little ones or pets who insist on running across them. It won’t break them, but you’ll have to keep clicking them back together.In case you don’t want to do the math, it takes 12 of these curve track pieces to make a complete circle, with a 38” diameter across center.If you want an oblong you’ll want to add 4 straight pieces, 2 on each side. You can do it with 1 straight piece on each side, but it looks a bit odd, and doesn’t stay together as well.If you want to run your train electrically, you’ll need to get the power pack and connector piece.

Not at all what it is cracked up to be I finally gave up and did not use any of it or the train last Christmas

TRACK DOES NOT STAY CONNECTED BECAUSE THE MOVEMENT OF THE TRACK ON A FLAT HARDWOOD FLOOR OR FLAT CARPET DISCONNECTS THE TRACK SECTIONS. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.
