Decent
These strobe-lights are surprisingly decent for the price, I have used several different Strobe-lights in the past and I have also been using Professional grade lights from "Whelen" "Federal" "Code 3" "Signal" and "Standby Group", these are not even close to that and it is not expected to be either.$40-$100 lights will never perform like Professional grade units that costs hundreds to thousands of dollars. That said, for Linear Strobe-lights these are not half bad, certainly not compared to other budget versions out there. For those who doesn't know what Linear lights mean, I will give you a brief explanation. You will usually see two types of lights on an emergency vehicle for example - Linear and TIR (Total Internal Reflector) lights. These lights as mentioned are Linear lights, which means that the optics delivers a comprehensive display of illumination and can be seen from almost any direction the light is facing, all LED's surround an optical reflector that captures light from all LED's in the light at the same time;instead of from each LED separately. So, if you park at an angle, oncoming traffic will notice your vehicle better due to the greater light spread.A TIR optic is similar to the technology used in a flashlight. Each LED in a TIR light centers at the end of a conical reflector and captures scattered light and focuses it forward which gives the light a round, narrow output that projects at a greater distance.TIR lenses usually have vertical ridges across the optics which let the light spread over a wider area, on the negative side though, unlike Linear lightsTIR lights don’t get much off-angle performance making them ideal for forward facing or rear facing lights only.Something to consider, I read some reviews that said that these lights burn out in a year or two, Linear optics create a brighter light spread which uses more energy, creating more heat which will burn out the light eventually, especially on budget lights. TIR optics is going to be stronger than a linear light with the same number of LED's and equal wattage. So, what does all of this mean, depending on your situation, you might need either one of the two, or better yet combining both Linear with TIR lights for maximum visibility when working on or beside a street or road, for example; the use of TIR front and back and Linear on the sides would be optimal if you want to be as visible as possible all around your vehicle. So, more about these guys, they are fairly bright in daylight and bright enough to break through tinted windows, they struggle a bit on my vehicle, but I have double tinted privacy tint -5% VLT (Visible Light Transmission) installed, even the Whelens will struggle a little bit with my tint.As always with these budget lights, cords are a bit cheaply made and way too short to make a professional installation, there is not enough cord length to reach the back of my tahoe, it reaches to the right door B-pillar, the one next to the seat. The controller-box is obviously not professional grade as well but it suits the purpose just fine for this type application, the adhesive pad seem to hold up well, for now anyway, we will see in a few days or so if the heat in the car will melt it loose. I would suggest hooking these lights up to a utility battery that you can easily remove and recharge unless you connect it so that the alternator can give the boos it needs or a solar trickle charger should be enough for this, alternativelya battery pack that can easily be recharged separately. I have connected these to a micro jump-starter pack with a 15w output and a home soldered connection that fits the pack which is placed in the glove box. Perfect for my set up.The less extra equipment you have connected to your car battery the better if you need to run these foran extended time without idling the vehicle. These lights have a IP65 water-resistance claim, The International electrical Commission (IEC) defines the IP Code or Ingress Protection Code as standard IEC 60529.Meaning this; the first number (6) is the highest rating against solid object ingress. That in turn means that the product is “dust-tight”, the second number (5) represents the resistance of the enclosure to liquids and indicates that it is protected from light pressure water jets and other liquids sprayed or splashed, from any angle. The highest rating in this rating scale would be the number 9 and indicates that it protects the unit even when it is immersed beyond 1m or sprayed withclose-range powerful water jets.IPXX Rating ScaleFirst Number0 No protection1 Protected against solid objects over 50mm, e.g. accidental touch by hands2 Protected against solid objects over 12mm, e.g. fingers3 Protected against solid objects over 2.5mm, e.g. tools & wires4 Protected against solid objects over 1mm, e.g. wires, nails etc.5 Protected against dust limited ingress, not harmful deposits6 Totally protected against dustn/a n/an/a n/a2 nd Number0 No protection1 Protected against vertically falling drops of water e.g. condensation2 Protected against direct sprays of water up to 15 ° from the vertical3 Protected against direct sprays of water up to 60 ° from the vertical4 Protected against water splashed from all directions, limited ingress permitted5 Protected against low-pressure jets of water from all directions, limited ingress permitted6 Protected against strong jets of water e.g. on the deck of the ship, limited ingress permitted7 Protected against the effects of temporary immersion between 15cm and 1m. Duration of test 30 minutes8 Protected against long periods of immersion under pressureSometimes on IP Ratings, there might be a letter at the end of the code IPXXX. This is the supplementary letter and it is used to denote supplementary information from the product standard,it is however rarely used on consumer grade products.e.g, IP69K - (6) Powerful high-temperature water jets, Totally protected against dust(9K) Protected against close-range high pressure, high-temperature spray downs. Smaller specimens rotate slowly on a turntable, from 4 specific angles. Larger specimens are mounted in the intended position when being used. So, when they say that these units are waterproof, they are simply not by their own rating of IP65, it is merely water resistant and there is a difference between the two :)I hope this shed some light (pun intended) on the question whether to buy these or not, but from what I have seen here on Amazon, I believe that these lights if they hold up to the sellers promise will be one of the better budget-friendly options from this site, from what I can see here, only time will tell now how long they will actually perform. Mine is also installed inside the car which should prolong the lifespan due to not being out in the elements. If you need decent budget lights and need them installed outside the vehicle , look for at-least IP65 rated lights or they will not be "waterproof" no matter what the description says, look for a solid housing of the light, if they look "plasticy" with no rubberseals around it or don't have an aluminum housing they are most likely going to fail in way way or another, build up condensation and crack from UV damage. These have a aluminum housing and feels pretty solid, so far I feel good about this buy, the price is right for what you get with these lights, I just wish the manufacturers will stop cheeping out with the cord lengths, it is so much better to have too much cord which you can hide during the installation than cutting and soldering extensions etc. which is not something everyone can or know how to do, not to mention some devices are very sensitive to any changes in voltage drops etc which could be a problem if you have soldered cord extensions.I hope this helps.

Easy to install very bright
The media could not be loaded. Used it for my vehicle. I am a tow truck driver.

Great brightness.
I'm using these on a motorcycle for increased visibility and for when I'm serving as a road guard. I upgraded from a set of two lights to this four light set. They're extremely bright and will work well. My only complaint is that they don't always come on in solid (non-flashing) mode. I've only used them a few times since installing so we'll see how that goes.

Great...
They are easy to install, however the connections are not water/weather proof, so i was unable to install them permanent. I purchased magnets and place them anywhere in the vehicle.

Lens Me Demonstrate the Fresnel Difference
The media could not be loaded. You don’t know how much I wanted to keep this kit - I purchased two, in fact; one for each corner of my SUV & the other to outfit my grill. But there are two problems that prevent me from installing them. The description says that these lights are “synchronous.” They cannot be synched unless you purchase a WigWagger or other type of device that will make the lights run together in a pattern. That’s one reason I must return this. The other, which I must warn anyone installing this particular device is that the fresnel lens disperses the light so completely that my iPhone could barely show how much light can hit a surface from ten feet away. I install these for the same primary reason that all emergency vehicles have them equipped: To. Be. SEEN. It’s bad enough that one must exit their vehicle at a responder scene during the day when people typically are driving distracted. But as darkness falls, responders must be recognized as soon as possible. I cannot imagine deploying these lights and assuming that anyone would see the lights flashing from a distance of four feet, *especially* when you add turns, hills and night street lighting into the mix. This will NOT be seen when sitting beneath the newer LED street lighting, or any municipal lights on a street, unless you know the vehicle is there and you’re looking out for the light.Listen, I’m a bit upset that anyone would give this any stars when you’re gambling with lives out in the trenches. I pirchased this because someone called “Chief” said it was the brightest set they’ve seen. But my old 4LED Xprite markers can be seen 100x better than this because it uses focused beams as well as clustered fresnels to throw the light output where drivers can get a chance to see us.I don’t like throwing any product under the bus. But I also don’t want to be lying under a bus because some distracted driver didn’t see my vehicle in time.A final note: this DOES have 32 LEDs but you just can’t tell it when on. A 4-LED device blows this one - which boasts 8X the LEDs - out of the water. Don’t gamble with your lives out there. It’s bad enough that many products available aren’t true water-resistant or have the output of government first responder vehicles. What hurts also are the bull chip reviews that make claims that aren’t true.My SUV is outfitted with lights along every aspect (grill, bumper corners, rear window, tailgate, headlamps) as well as DOT-C2 rated tape & I have a better chance at not being struck. But I stand a better chance with my old lights than replacing with these.
