Wife's 73 beetle's clutch cable broke. Installed this one, and back on the road in no time. You do have to disassemble the peddle assembly for this job. But it all went back together eventually.

Breaks after first try
I installed the clutch cable and the first time I pushed the clutch the cable end pulled out.

3 different length cables for the VW Beetle.
I bought this via a local store, Apparently there are 3 Lengths; 89.25in, 90in, 91in. We had some trial and error, 91in was to long for our 72 VW Beetle. We then figured out ours took the 89.25in, be prepared to futz with it.Y340 = 89.25in (according to Amazon notation.)Y341 = 90in (according to Amazon notation.)CA958 = 91in (physically too long.)Hopefully this will save someone from the aggravation of install and failed activation, return ect...GL.
