While Sidney Prescott (Campbell) lives in safely guarded seclusion, bodies begin dropping around the Hollywood set of Stab 3, the latest movie based on the gruesome Woodsboro killings. The escalating terror finally brings Sidney out of hiding, drawing her and the other survivors once again into an insidious game of horror movie mayhem that’s a “suspenseful, clever and very entertaining” (NBC-TV) installment in the wildly popular Scream franchise.

More straight horror than Scream 2 and had some added depth to the plot
Scream 2 was a disaster trying to be slasher flick while poking fun at the genre at the same time. Scream 3 went with the more straight forward horror plot. There’s a good bit of tension and plenty of chase scenes. On the other hand this was where the franchise became formulaic. Scream 2 was about the killer recreating the original murders. Scream 3 was about a movie made about the first killings and a murderer trying to replicate them once again. At the end however they do add some more depth to the plot. That made it a pretty good serial killer film in the end.

...Were they trying to tell us something?
Uh, this movie's backstory is about an actress who was raped by a scummy hollywood horror producer, which decades later is pretty eyebrow-raising knowing what Harvey Weinstein got up to with Rose McGowan from the first 'Scream.' I wonder...As far as the rest of 'Scream 3' goes, people like to throw around the term "bloody Scooby Doo" to describe it as if that were a bad thing. But watching Neve Campbell, Ghostface and company run around a mansion with secret passageways is fun as hell, and I like seeing most of the victims in a slasher film put up a fight. There's more plot holes this time around but overall I like Scooby Doo, and I like 'Scream 3.'

Review of the blu ray
SCREAM 3 is lots of fun and finishes the original trilogy smartly. As a film it is not as good as the original SCREAM but far surpasses the somewhat disappointing second film. Back again is an intelligent script that provides the perfect mix of scares, suspense and quick wit all mixed together. And Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox Arquette and David Arquette are back shining brightly not missing a step in their well crafted roles. Supporting cast is also real fun. Parker Posey is a hoot and Patrick Dempsey turns in a great dramatic turn fitting into the horror movie fold perfectly with his usual class and charm. Was I reviewing the film alone I would be giving it 4 stars for only the original is a true 5 star film but the blu ray transfer ups the viewing experience and makes it a winning 5 stars and then some. The video transfer is very good. It is not as crisp as some but certainly an upgrade over the dvd. Colors are bright, close ups are clean with great detail. Black/white ratio is excellent. Both day and night scenes are well done. This all adds to a dramatic viewing experience. But the true star here is the audio. The DTS HD 5.1 track is amazing. Dialogue is always crisp and strong and your entire surround sound system will be put to great use throughout. Back speakers which are often not utilized well are definitely strong here. You will be jumping out of your skin as every effective scare is made that much stronger by the superb audio. It honestly was like watching the film for the first time. The blu ray transfer here turns a very well done film into something even better. It uses all blu ray has to offer in video and audio to make the viewing experience an amazing horror delight. Be prepared to shiver and shake and have your heart pumping fast. Highly recommended.

my least favorite of the series, but still good of a watch.
This third chapter in the Scream series lacked the original writer and so it lacked the original plots. I was disapointed by the plot but because I love the first two, I gave this a try. After watching it, I don't relaly hate it, but it's not my favorite of the series.

Poor follow up to some classics
The opening with Cotton is awesome, but it goes downhill fast after that. Horrible villian. But Parker Posey makes it watchable.

I Love It!
I try to be as honest as I can when reviewing Movies and I must say that this is a classic. A "must have" movie for anyone who likes scary movies. I will say that Most movies get worse as the sequels come out but this one is just as good as the first one. I have all of the Scream movies and I would recommend them to anyone who has not seen them or to anyone who does not own them. One of my favorites.Obviously The plot surrounds Sidney Prescott (Nev Campbell) and the rest of the gang from Scream 1 and 2. I will say that Randy does make a cameo appearance in this film even though he was butchered pretty badly in the second one by Billies Mother :P The plot is honestly pretty much the same as the first two with a mysterious ghost face killer wanting to kill Sidney for some crazy unknown reason. The reason is however ALWAYS made clear at the end. With Scream 3 though I must say that you will not see this coming if you have never seen it before. It was a BIG Shock to me when I first saw it. The rules that applied to Scream 1 do not apply to the Concluding chapter in the Scream Trilogy! You think you know the facts but the truth is you don't. The past comes back to bight them in the behind and everything that they thought they knew about the past was WRONG! That is precisely why I recommend this one to anyone who doesn't own it or has never seen it :) It is just a classic. So go pick it up on here while there are still some left and please enjoy :)And I would only ask that if you found this review helpful in your decision to purchase this item that you could click the button and let me know. "What's your favorite scary movie?"
Came on time and in good condition. Scream 3 is my second favorite one in the series. Obviously the first one is my favorite but 3 is the first one I actually watched from start to finish. I wouldn't necessarily call this a scary movie, it made me laugh a couple of times. I was a child when the first one came out in 96 and wasn't allowed to watch it all the way through. So I have a special bond with this particular movie because for this franchise 3 was the first I got sit down and watch it alone.

Springy script, but why have the screams gone?
On the set of Stab 3 the cast are targeted by a serial killer using the same disguise as with Sidney Prescott (Campbell) who is once again brought into the equation. In the third instalment of the most renowned serial killer series in the world we see Wes Craven once more use an exquisite horror slasher motive to get the adrenaline pumping and once more the stakes are higher as Neve Campbell is once more at the centre of attention for the masked villain.Opening with the annoying Cotton rushing through traffic to save his girlfriend and the motive is set as the killer reveals his desire to kill Sidney and once more the central character from the franchise is up against the odds.Sidney has developed throughout the screams to be a developed protagonist. The first film depicted her as a nervous wreck and thanks to her difficult life has progressed to be a profound figure in the series. This film encodes quite a bizarre usage of her mother coming back and is rather uncomfortable than scary.Courtney Cox's Gale is as mouthy and uncaring as ever and though this film encodes some more sentimental scripting on her part, the friends star adds that necessity bite to portray her as the stubborn cow the reporter should be.But thanks to many films having many horror ideas this is never about the acting and is all focused on what mayhem the killer can ensue. Thanks to a clever part revival of the best character in modern horror we see more rules demonstrated and acted out but critically this film isn't scary. When you watch a film you usually know what you're getting into. If you watch a Richard Curtis flick you'll know automatically its trashy love and if you pick up a Stanley Kubrick picture you're going to see something other worldly. And the connotations of scream you obviously aspect to be on the edge of your seat clutching desperately to the cushion. Whilst the first two films weren't especially groundbreaking in terms of scares they were certainly profound in demonstrating the motives and activities of a psycho, which this 2000 release does not accomplish. There are frequent appearances of the white face and predictable jumps. And the fact that he keeps falling over and bashing into things make him appear as a clown rather than an established murderer and so your scare factor is down basically to the situation. And yet that does work as once more the scripting is effective enough to keep you guessing right until the final stages and this is the franchise's strong point. With all 3 films you never know till the end and you simply have to keep viewing. The first scream was definitely the best and since then the screams have dwindled but ultimately the films keep you guessing and this is its purpose, to entertain, which it does.6.5/10

AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
The third installment of the ghost face killing spree fanatic. Who is it going to be this time? Buy it & find out. Filled with twists to keep you guessing and still jumpy in places even when you know it's just someone in a mask and cloak. BRILLIANT FUN. GORY & GRUESOME.

Perhaps a step down from Screams 1 & 2, this is still a great sequel. It seems less scary or brutal as the first two films, with more humour permeating through, although Scream 3 has a bravura start and twisty finale. Wes Craven's direction is solid. The characterisation is still great, (especially the parts played by Scream regulars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette), as is the sly critique about acting in horror films and Hollywood in general. Very enjoyable.

Fantastic addition to the Scream franchise
This is one of the better Scream films (in my opinion). The characters have grown up a bit, as have the actors. It's lovely to see them all again (the survivors). This film utilises a little of our 21st century technology and has an amazing twist at the end. If you haven't seen this movie yet the ending will surprise you, but it's so good.

Scream 3 is average but not bad.
Scream 3 is the weakest of the four movies but it is not so awful that many of people use to describe it.Yeah it is kinda goofy..it's like a parody of himself and the Hollywood system in general but it is not a waste of time.
