Oh my GOD finally a good exercise mat!! I've been using the BalanceFrom Go Yoga All Purpose Anti-Tear Exercise Yoga Mat with Carrying Strap, Blue for awhile now and I absolutely HATE it. Everything about the HemingWeigh is superior. As you can see in the attached pictures, the HemingWeigh exercise mat is TRULY extra thick, especially compared to the BalanceFrom mat that is supposedly "extra thick high density."I did my forward lunge stretches on both mats and you can see in the picture that the BalanceFrom mat leaves a huge dent where my knee was. You can barely tell I was on the HemingWeigh mat. There was so much cushion and it was such a relief not feeling the wood ground as I stretched. This mat is extremely high quality for the price--save yourself the hassle of looking elsewhere because this is literally one of the best exercise mats I have used at this price. I stretch for about an hour every day and having a good mat is crucial for me. I used to need to fold the BalanceFrom yoga mat to get enough cushion but I definitely would not need to with the HemingWeigh.I could seriously gush about this exercise mat all day. It's also extremely compact and lightweight despite being so much thicker. It's super transportable with the provided straps and SERIOUSLY. If you're looking for an exercise mat, buy this one!Bonus picture of my boyfriend curled up on the HemingWeigh. While he says he would not sleep on it by choice, it's way better than my old mat. PRAISE.

After reading all the positive reviews, I bought this mat for physio therapy and maybe some yoga.When it arrived the smell was pretty overpowering but I figured it would subside with time.Nope.I have used this mat twice since purchase in November 2017 and it is now the end of April 2018 (6 months).The first time I used it, my clothes smelled so bad from lying on the mat that I had to change out of them hours later. The second time I used the mat, I placed a towel down first. But the smell was so terrible that I could not focus or finish my physio therapy. Six months of owning this mat, and the smell is just as strong, and just as unbearable.Yes, it is on the less expensive side as far as exercise mats go, but my suggestion would be to put that money towards a higher quality mat.I am going to have to throw this mat away, and the money I invested, right along with it.

This is a good weight, thick and durable mat, for anyone needing extra protection while exercising. It's a must for me due to some spinal irregularities needing comforting support. Heck, you can end your routine with a quick nap on it, as well. It's that comfy.The missing star is for the terrible off-gasing that I had to deal with on arrival. The smell was so strong that I had to get it out of the house. I placed it in the garage, opened and stretched out for full airing. My goodness, when I walked in the garage, it smelled just like my visits to the local Discount Tires. I even burned some incense to try to mask it, but the smell won.So, if you have patience you will really like this mat. It's a good value for the comfort and durability. The smell will eventually dissipate, but it will take a good while.

This mat is not as thick as I hoped it would be, though it is definitely thicker than others on the market. Apparently I need more "cushion" when I park myself down on the floor to exercise than other people do. Also, the elastic transport loops, which hold the mat in place when it is rolled up, ripped on one side after the 2nd time using the product, though that did not compromise the quality of the mat itself.UPDATE: The company contacted me after seeing my review and offered to send me another mat to try, at their expense, inclusive of shipping. They also sent me a new elastic transport loop. Though the mat they sent was less cushiony than the original HemingWeigh Extra Thick Foam Exercise Mat I ordered, when I put it underneath the HemingWeigh Extra Thick Foam Mat, I achieved the level of softness I needed. The new elastic transport loop is holding up well. The first one must have been a "dud." It happens.I'd like to say that the company representative couldn't have been nicer or more sincere. If other companies demonstrated this level of service and committment toward their customers, we would have many more happy consumers out there. I would CERTAINLY be enthusiastic about buying ANYTHING this company sells in the future.

This approximately 3/4 inch thick mat is 'comfy' for this 71-year-old guy: I am overweight but I don't 'bottom out' on this. The foam is flexible enough to unroll and to roll up again and again with ease. The elasticized sling carrier has held up well and stretches easily enough to that the roll doesn't have to be wrapped as tight as possible for things to work. I do find that the foam is 'tender' in that sharp stones and the like will harm it...but used indoors (or on a ground cloth or tent floor for camping) this is a great product! I am very pleased that I found it and I believe that many shoppers who have similar needs will feel the same way!

Excellent cushion and perfect size for me (6"1""). I have (2) knee replacements and this mat allows me to kneel on both with a great amount of comfort while I do stretching and floor exercise. I have had this for 6 months and use it 4-5x a week, it has held up well.

I previously used to work out on a carpeted floor, so I had a different mat which was thinner. However I tend to workout in my kitchen now, which has ceramic tiles - very hard on your spine when doing any abs workouts! I therefore bought this mat and I've had it for just under a year now and it's still great!

Amazing soft sturdy and big enough

The mat is pretty thick and fairly comfortable. However, the fabrication is very poor. First, my mat is not even straight. It has a visible curve in it and one extremity is one inch narrower than the other. Also, I don't understand reviews that say this mat is sturdy. It is very "cushionny" and will get damaged easily. Pressure marks stay for a long time, if not forever (like the marks left by the rubber band). Also, if you roll it for storage, don't expect it to be straight while you exercise because it takes hours before it really flattens out. But the worse thing is the weird chemical smell that just won't go away. I'm not that sensible to smell, but this is strong enough to distract me from my exercising routine.Very disappointed and will probably return.

Lo mejor con diferencia que tiene la esterilla es que no mantiene la forma enrollada, en cuanto la estiras en el suelo se mantiene tiesa y en posición.No resbala y sus 15mm de ancho la hacen super cómoda.El único inconveniente es que, para mi gusto, es demasiado larga.

La verdad es que está estupendo. Es gordo y aparatoso, pero eso está explicado en la descripción del producto. La cuerda para sujetarlo no es muy buena.

Excellent mat worth every penny I paid. I am able to door my floor stretching with ease as I am nicely cushioned.
