Nice watch
PROs:- Its atomic signal works perfectly. Auto syncs every night between 12am and 1am. You likely won't be able to get a signal if you attempt a manual sync during daytime, due to atmospheric and radio interference. I am in the D.C. region, quite a distance from the signal's origin in Colorado, if that is helpful. This watch now always tells the same time as my cellphone, computer, etc. Best I can tell, RCVD is displayed on the 3 o'clock window when it successfully syncs up, so you have a way of knowing your time is exact.- The watch is made for hard use. Vibrations, such as a reciprocating saw or gun recoil, have not messed with it in anyway. There is a special feature (I believe) built into this watch which will reset/realign the hands if a sudden drop moves them out of kilter. I can't confirm that though.- the black LCD is hard to read during during the daylight but this, alternatively, only makes the hands pop out better. I specifically chose the dark LCD for this reason and am pleased with that choice.- shipping was super-fast being that it cross 1/2 the world. I think it arrived inside of 5 days. It was extremely well packaged. If my shipment was any indication of future performance, don't be anxious about this seller.- indices are raised metal that have two angles. They provide a nice contrast to the black face and aesthetically match the metal band. It takes the LCD light well and reflects it back to the user's eyes. They do not have lumed paint.- I have a 7.5 inch wrist and the watch doesn't appear too big at all.- once it hits a full charge, I've never seen it go to medium. Full charge took two days of regular use outside.- the LCD screens are backlit. Additionally there is a single, small LED light at the 6 o'clock position comes on at the same time. This lights the entire face so you can see the hands too. It also has the unintended consequence of being used to light your path in a dark room, hallway, etc. It is activated with a small button at the 2 o'clock position. You can change the setting to auto shut off at 1sec or 3secs. I would have preferred 5sec myself, but that wasn't an option.- luminescent paint is on the hands only, which does a sufficient job at readability during dusk/dark hours, but it not extremely legible either. It disappears rather quickly after 10 minutes after a modest charge.- band adjustment was done inside of 10 minutes with a push pin. Fairly easy. I took two full links out, the micro adjusted the clasp.- the hourly time chime is sufficient to be heard, yet will not raise too much awareness among others.- can be a totally silent watch, since there is no second hand to tick. Minute hand moves in increments of 20 seconds.- the function by which hands move out of the way and stack in between the smaller windows is clever.- if using the Tone feature, which beeps when the adjustment buttons are pressed, it doesn't activate when the light button is pushed. It also has a different tone when returning to the regular time, after jumping thru settings.CONs- the watch height is a little large away from the wrist. You may hit some door jams if not careful.- the fixed bezel is not brushed steel. It has a polish to it that gets scratched immediately. After a couple weeks, the scratches become uniformed and it you won't really notice them anymore, so give it time.- NATO bands won't work without an adapter. I have no real intention to change the bracelet though.- if you press the light, then try to change modes, the light automatically shuts off. The constant indigo feature on my ironman is missed in that regard.- the band is attached into plastic lugs (the black part sandwiched between the stainless bezel and case back) which seems odd. They haven't broken and I don't expect them to, but I believe that's the weakest part of the watch' design.- a mineral crystal was used, not a sapphire. No scratches yet, just be wary. There is also no anti reflective coasting. As seen in my picture it reflects the sky at the right angle.- stopwatch only runs for 60 minutes. After that, it keeps running but starts over at zero. So there is really no way to do a lengthy time count.- the alarm will not wake anyone up (even the wearer) out of a sleep. It is just audible enough to be heard while awake and moving around during the day. For me, it cannot be trusted. Same for the timer. I won't used it unless I am actively waiting for it and expecting to hear it.MISC:- reflects a lot of light in the daytime from the watches face and other polished surfaces.- the bracelet is rolled steel, not solid links. Not really an issue, but there is a lot of lateral give/bend. Doesn't pinch hair though.- buttons are recessed enough that they won't be pushed accidentally.- markings on the bezel are engraved so they won't get worn off easily, if at all. For some, these marking may be too prominent.- you can choose between military time or numerical date on the 9 o'clock window (you can press a button to quickly toggle between the two). It will remain on whatever setting you choose. The 3 o'clock window always shows day of the week. In my opinion, Casio should have put all day functions on one side, rather than split them up.- the automatic light feature doesn't always work reliably. It's gimmicky for my needs and I always have it turned off so it doesn't accidentally light up.- basically one has to decide if the multi-band function is worth 100 dollars; being that the US version of this watch (that doesn't have the atomic time feature) is selling for $250 or less online.

I like
Great choice of window information and placement, one quick glance and you can get what you need. Thought it may appear and feel too big especially given that g-shock "thickness" and, on reception and putting it on, I thought the size may be a thing. After sizing, and a few days of having it on, i don't recall having that concern. It looks and carries in the sweet spot. Only mention that because, on writing this review, i recalledbthat concern. Night light gives the face an easily readable and good look- all windows easily viewed. Had zero reception of the automic clock signal but all you have to do is hold it on a metal bar like a coat hanger bar or signpost and it shows max reception (YouTube it, just boosts the antenna reception). Link up once a week and the accuracy is within 1 to 3 seconds. Your time is THE time. Easy to set and simple to use the functions. Hands glow long enough and bright enough for glance readings atnight but aren't "brilliant". But totally useable. but i prefer the use of the light over luminous dials now anyway. Something about this particular layout communicates the info in a way that seems to stick and sinks in better. I'm still a mechanical guy for its complete self sufficiency but the solar/atomic MO is pretty self sufficient also. Far more accurate though. With mechanical mechanisms it can suck knowing you've drifted off a good 2 or 3 minutes sometimes. Enough that you end up having to take that into account in your head sometimes, like if you're running late. Retaining the usefulness of a stopwatch and daily reminder alarms is useful as well. Dig it.

Great quality
Watch is exactly what I needed. Was able to adjust strap myself by removing one of the links. Easy. Would have given 5 stars but the directions came in a different language. Was able to get them on line

Very nice watch
I wanted something dressier-looking than my other Casio watches, which have colored resin cases and straps, and yet still have solar power and radio-controlled time; this model does all that. On the plus side, it works well and the R/C sensitivity is at least as good as my other watches: when I check the synchronization time, it’s usually the current day or at least within the last day or two. (Some of my other watches may go weeks without syncing.) It fits my wrist quite well so I didn’t need to have links removed. The only (minor) negatives are that the small dials can be a bit difficult to read, and all the printing on the case makes it a bit less dressy. The dark background on the small dials makes the characters and “flags” less legible than the version with the light background and dark characters, but pressing the light button takes care of that – the LED illumination is quite good (but brief). Also, the dark small dials look better against the dark main dial – less cluttered. As for not liking the printing on the case, that’s my fault since it was clearly visible in the photos (and is pretty much standard on all Casio G-Shock watches). If you buy a Japanese-market model from a Japanese seller, don’t forget to allow for import duties; I had to pay about 10-11% when I picked up the watch at the post office. Also, you may get a Japanese (only) manual, but an English version is available online; it’s important to read the manual for details like calibrating the hands, which is not an issue with an all-digital display.

G shock rocks
Great watch, it's everything I wanted in a wristwatch. It is large on the wrist but isn't too large for mine.
