Serious Fun!
I grew up with an old Bongo Board and have used it for 45 years, but I wanted to try the more recent manifestations of balance boards. New Bongo Boards are shaped like skateboards, with canted ends, and I liked the flat deck of my old board. After I looked at all the balance boards, watched the videos, and read the customer reviews, I settled on the Indo Board. I love it! Balancing on it was not an issue for me, because I'm used to working on my old Bongo Board, but I did place it behind a couch so I could use the couch back for stability if I needed to reach out to it. (My husband, who is not up to balance board speed, found this a necessity.) The Indo Board is a smooth roll on carpet, sturdy and well made--and beautiful. I bought the "Doodle" model, and the picture here on Amazon doesn't do justice to the vibrant colors of the board itself. I wasn't sure I would like a board that rolls freely on the roller--it doesn't have a rail and track system like my old bongo board--but I think not having one contributes to the smooth operation. I like my old Bongo Board's butcher block roller, but the Indo's plastic one is both lightweight and sturdy, with gripper-like sections to keep the board from hurtling off (the board itself also has stoppers on the underside at the ends to help prevent this). As others have mentioned, the deck does have a gritty feel, but I have used it with shoes and barefoot, and it's not unpleasant to bare feet. I did not get the optional flo-cushion, because I wanted to roll on the board, thinking it would be a better and more challenging workout. However, after experiencing the Indo's "trackless" system, I decided that even if I wasn't rolling side to side (or front to back, surfer-style), with the cushion I could get the benefit of 360 degree freedom of balance, which would work out my legs in different ways and create other challenges for balance. So I have ordered it separately--I'd advise getting the whole package up front and saving a few bucks. I am an active 60 year old, a former dancer and current kayaker (with aspirations to try a stand up board), always on the look-out for ways to have fun and get exercise. I don't downhill ski; nor do I surf or skateboard, so I can't comment on the Indo's use for conditioning for those sports. I use it in the morning as part of my usual workout (Nordic Track, hoop, balance board, all while listening and moving to music) and at night when I'm watching tv (breaks for the balance board or for some hand weights). But the Indo is such great fun that sometimes during the day when I spot it there propped up against the wall I'll grab it and give it a five-minute go. Last year I bought myself a commuter's kick scooter, and when my friends take it for a whirl they all come back smiling. This Indo board has the same effect. Some people have written they fear giving this to kids or that it's not for older folks--but balance is key to all movement, and if we develop it when young it's more likely we'll maintain it into old age. A kid can master this board is no time, and an older person can use the flo-cushion and progress to the roller. In short: this is a well made product that will give you a great workout--and you'll have fun doing it.

My first "surfboard"
I've decided I want to surf... again. It's been decades since I last surfed. One area I knew I had to look at was balance/coordination. I found a book entitled Advanced Surf Fitness For High Performance Surfing, by Lee Stanbury, published in the UK in 2014. It states that, "Balance plays a key role in the development of surfing performance and enjoyment..." Among the book's helpful hints about balance are a series of exercises which employ the Indo board. So I HAD to get one. But if you're older like me and don't have the balance and coordination you once had, it may not be so easy initially to balance on the Indo board. I found that it helps to start on a "rough" floor...like a shag carpet. By making it harder for the roller to roll, you make it easier on yourself in finding your balance. As you progress, you'll be able to substitute a smoother floor, and then, later, do exercises while balanced on the Indo board. .

Learn to use carefully and great results come
Used one of these years ago at a martial arts gym , started out using it on mats so it was controllable and falling didn't get you hurt . So many complaints about falling and injury due to irresponsible use , don't use on hard floor ! Now many years later I got one to help maintain leg strength for running . I started out using a yoga mat under the roller to get used to it again then graduated to tight nap carpet in my home gym , learn control - no injuries . I bought mine with just the roller but tried it with a balance disc under it ( IndBoard sells one but I already had one ) that is a surprisingly tough workout and is very safe as the board is only 2 inches off the floor and won't skate away . Kids could very safely use IndoBoard with the disc .

I've had one for about 10 years and it has helped everyone in our family with balance and exercising. It is fun to use and is a novelty when nieces and nephews, friends etc. come for a visit. I bought this for a niece because she played on it every time she came over. Caution needs to be used read warnings and guides on how to use safely. I'm 46 years old it is easy to use but people with fall dangers and small areas to use should really consider the dangers. My kids are 14 and 16 so they have grown up using it as well as most of their friends. The younger and "shorter" makes falling "easier". Great product made well.

Huge fun
I'm a fit 65. As we get older balance goes earlier than other neurological functions. I wanted to offset that with balance exercises while having a lot of fun. Indo Board fits the bill. It took a few days of 10 minutes per day to get up and stay up on it without having to hang on to the sofa back or the kitchen counter. What seemed impossible at first, after a few weeks is easy. It's quite strenuous for me at each session since I want to maximize the fun, so each session doesn't last long. Someday a pig-dog stance.

Challenging and Fun!
I am 40yrs old and I just recently took up roller skating again. I haven't done that since I was a kid. My balance is terrible so I purchased this hoping it would help increase my stability and strength. Be very careful on this! The roller is much larger than I was expecting. You are pretty high off the ground and even on carpet, it can roll out from under you, as it did me, causing me to fall rather painfully. Definitely use a chair or sofa or another person to steady yourself until you get better!I went ahead and purchased the Indo Flo Cushion to use instead of the roller. It's very stable and yet just as challenging as the roller. I can't stay off my Indo board now. I use it every single day. It's so much fun and I can feel my legs getting stronger and my balance getting better. My favorite challenge is trying to do a squat while keeping the board steady. You can feel your legs shake, trying to keep the board balanced! I use it while watching tv in the evenings.Overall, it's a great board and well worth the price. It's very well made and I think it'll last for quite a long time and get a lot of use.

Very good, very expensive.
+ Meets the expectation, quality of materials and delivery is exceptional. Very useful for every sport.- price from manufacturer is too high, still don't understand how that may cost 170 euro.

Indo Board
