Q: Why is this plastic stand $60 usd???

Its 100% metal and very strudy. It expensive but solved all my audio issues i had with the device moving while being live. Its worth it eventually.

Q: Why is the Inline power switch adapter bundled with the stand and not the actual unit? Seems like a swindle.

Because most people assume this product even needed one. Like most equipment made by music equipment companies it's completely safe to just unplug it when turning it off. The switch adapter wasn't a thing until just recently.

Q: Does this work with a headset mic? If I plug in my headset with the built in mic, does it pic up that mic audio, or do I need a separate mic?

Um you asked the question on the stand not the actual GoXlR. As for the actual device I believe that yes there is a port to use a headset mic, however you won't get the full effect since u cannot adjust anything with that microphone through the goxlr. Buying a xlr microphone is the best option with the device

Q: How well would this work with the Rodecaster, which is twice as long as goxlr.

This should probably be able to replace that but if you wanted to use it long side it would not be an issue
