Worth the money
Good price for this adapter. Being able to use your N64 controller on a PC is a godsend for certain games that are hard to map with a different controller. Recommended!

Works perfectly in Windows 10
The Hyperkin adapter works perfectly in the latest version of Windows 10 (22H2, 64-bit). If you're on PC, make sure to set the switch on the Hyperkin adapter to "PC." Once you have the N64 controller and the adapter connected to the computer, you'll need to calibrate the controller's joystick or it may not work properly.Open the Control Panel and you'll see the Hyperkin adapter (no software installation needed). Right-click on the adapter icon and choose "Game controller settings." Click on "Hyperkin Adapter" and then on "properties." In the properties window that opens up, Click on the Settings tab and choose "Calibrate."Follow the prompts to calibrate the joystick - I used my palm to rotate the joystick fully clockwise a couple of times. It's important to note that you don't need to calibrate the "Z axis" or "Z Rotation" settings - they correlate to the yellow buttons on the controller. After calibrate is complete, click on "Apply" and you're done.Hopefully this post will help those that aren't familiar with setting up game controllers in Windows.

Read before you buy
This isn't actually a five star review, I left a one star review and the seller deleted it, so I'm posting it again under the guise of a five star reivew to see if it slips by. Don't let this seller scam you too. Here's proof of all the one star reviews they've been deleting https://www.amazon.com/sp?ie=UTF8&isAmazonFulfilled=1&marketplaceSeller=1&orderID=114-5087290-1133865&seller=A1B9I9M6OPMX0FOrigianal review: Complete waste of money. It causes a power surge on USB port error every time I try plugging it into my PC, and it nearly permanently killed my steam deck docking station. Don't waste your money on this garbage. I'll never be buying anything with the brand Hyperkin again.

Works great, plug n play!
This is exactly what I needed to use my original N64 controllers on my PC. Simple to just plug it in and start playing. There's a little switch on the device to choose PC or Console use, so be sure it's in the right position. When in PC mode, the computer auto detects a Hyperkin Adapter and instantly able to map buttons and play Project64. There are some cheaper alternatives, but worth a few bucks more for the Hyperkin. Well made piece of equipment, and just plugs in-line with an original controller.

Don’t waste your money.
I was very excited for this adapter as I play a lot of N64 games on my pc and thought it would be nice to be able to use a real controller. This thing is miserable. I don’t know who is saying it’s “plug and play” but it isn’t. Didn’t matter which setting the tiny switch was on, it would not work with pc at all. I even tested it with my nintendo switch, and it still didn’t work. When calibrating the controller on pc it will read inputs, but try using it with any game and nothing happens. I can’t find any other people with a solution to this problem. I love hyperkin and their products, but this one was just a pointless cash grab that isn’t worth your money. Do not buy this product, it will only frustrate you.

Works and am having a great time BUT know this!
So I bought this to use with Project64 and my original N64 controller. It took me longer than it should have to get it working, and yes I did have the adapter set to PC.So first off, when you start Pj64, you need to click at the top border of the windowed screen where it says Options, then select Configuration, then click on Plugins, then in the right side of menu screen, select Input (controller) plugin:, select the option for N-Range For Project64 (*it will also list the build you have as part of the title), then click Apply and then OK.You should then go back to Options and click Input Settings, from there you can map the controller to your N64 original controller. Now, the issue I had was that my controller was not being picked up at all. The Adapter was though.I googled for a while and couldn't seem to get an answer. I ended up switching out my controller with another N64 original controller. It worked like a charm! The joystick even drifted a little, which was my controller and not the adapter. I compared the two controllers and spotted that the first controller had a memory card in it. I took out the memory card and plugged the controller into the adapter. Started up a game and it worked just fine! So, if you are having issues where the controller is not being picked up/read/detectable, make sure there’s not a memory card in your controller. I don't know if using a rumble pack would be an issue or not.So I hope this helps anyone and saves you sometime.I am giving 4 starts instead of 5 as there’s no trouble shooting provided on the company website and the instructions that comes with the adapter does not cover this at all, the instructions by the way sre in the folds of the front and back cover display.PS-I saw some posts here about needing to calibrate the controller in your controller panel first, I did not have to do that. Not a bad idea though. :)

Play on computer
I wanted to play my NES games on my computer so I bought these. A little programming and all work great.

It does what it's supposed to, it's not complicated.
It's very straight forward: You want to play an emulated N64 on your computer. Maybe you speed run, maybe you do some Randomizer.Whatever it is, this is how you hook your controller up to your PC. Plug and play.Be aware the length of the USB cord. It will dangle from whatever jack you plug it into. I suggest buying an extension so you don't put stress on your USB slots.
