A beautiful and fun sports game...
I have to say that this game was fun to play right from the beginning. I had a blast playing the demo that I had to go out and buy the game. The graphics are solid and make you feel as though you are watching a real game. The way the players run, move, dribble and shoot also feels real, which makes for an altogether well rounded game. I at first thought I wouldn't enjoy Captain Your Country since you only play as one player, but I soon found that this made the experience all the more real as you qualify for the World Cup. This, also, was one of the annoying aspects of the game that I didn't like. For one, the force you to play too many qualifying games in order to get in. For Brazil I had to play 18 qualifying matches, and then of course the 7 to win, which just made it all too long. Additionally, they force you to play Friendly games that have no bearing at all, except if you forfeit the match than your player's rating goes down (the only benefit is that the friendly matches can be used to get your players score back up to First Team level; I forfeited 3 friendly matches cause I wanted to play the actual qualifying matches, and I was forced to sit out the qualifying rounds until a friendly match came along and I could play and get my score up). Additionally, another useless feature is the power option for shooting, which invariably is always way too powerful if you do anything more than a tap of the shoot button. If trophies are your thing than you'll find that they are usually glitched. I played a Captain campaign and was denied several trophies even though I achieved them. Some said it was because I used a Virtual Pro, so I played a South American Captain campaign and created a player. After playing 18 matches and 7 World Cup matches I achieved South America Qualifier, Most Hat Tricks and the Masterful Performance achievements and was denied all of them. Trophies are great for facilitating your experience through the game, but they don't make a game. This unfortunately still annoys you when you play for so long and then they don't appear, causing you to have to redo the whole campaign if you want to achieve those trophies. Minor things, but overall the game is a blast and I am a huge fan. I would definitely recommend this game to any interested in a sports videogame. 5 stars.

Great game, good graphics, great atmosphere!
I have had this game now for about 3 weeks and I have to say that I love it. With the excitement of the World Cup going on, it was neat to see how Fifa tried to create the same world virtually. Graphics wise it is excellent, someone earlier complained about the graphics being 720p well so was Fifa 09 and 2010??!! You don't notice it anyway, and the closeups of the coaches are awesome as the detail is accurate to what they actually look like. Gameplay: Is just like Fifa 10. my only complaint would be that (like Fifa 10) the automatic changing of players is annoying. It wont let me pick the guy I want every time. Overall gameplay is just as good as Fifa 10. Negatives: if I had to pick any it would be the above mentioned gameplay and the price. 60 bucks is a little steep for this game. Its a great game but being that the World CUp happens every 4 years it seems alittle crazy to charge that much. Say 49.99 or 39.99 for the game would be nice. Positives: Graphics, gameplay, realness of the game and the crowd. Being able to listen to every national anthem of all the countries along with interesting statistics about the country. Overall fun game!!

EA: Shame on you. Cheap and Nasty Trick
Listen, I've owned every single EA FIFA game since I can remember, including all of the World Cup Special edition games. I fell in love with World Cup 2002 for Xbox. These games are without a doubt insanely fun. But I'll tell you right now, I'm rather pissed of at EA sports with the South Africa version. Extremely pissed. In fact, EA blog/viral team: I know you are reading this To my point: Usually the EA WORLD CUP EDITION games are half the price. There is a simple reason: it's a periodical game. Periodical's don't have to be in depth. You don't need all 100000 leagues to please, all you need is a freaking national team from like 60 countries. There is not as much depth put into these games. It's simple, less depth = less price. This damn game, World Cup 2010 SA edition, was 56.00. I still bought it because Im addicted to soccer, online soccer and FIFA game play. Am I OK with a half ass game? of course, it's still fun. i could be usa for 300 straight hours and no get bored hoisting that world cup trophy. Am I OK with only national teams: Of course, whatever, it's fun AM I OK with no cover athletes? Of course, you put no money into this game and why should you? Is this game insanely fun: of course. WHAT I AM NOT OKAY WITH: 720p GRAPHICS ON MY 1080p PLAYSTATION 3 and 50 INCH PANASONIC 1080P TV. That's right, I had to triple check my display. Restart my PS3, why were the graphics so horrible and why was the resolution 720p???? I then realized, EA didnt make a 1080p game. Cheap ******* EA, you could literally put 30 teams in this game, with one more and I would pay 56.00 dollars for world cup fever, but to really stick it to me by making the game in 720p is completely unacceptable. For those of you who dont know? 720p is just a fancy way to say 480i. 480i is the freaking resolution of the wii when you use component cables. It's a garbage resolution and one I strictly avoided buy buying a PS3. The HDMI cord literally laughs at any game that pipes through its wire at 720p. I have a wii, i have a 360, i Have a ps3, I have a psp. i know what i'm getting and what I'm supposed to get. EA, you should be ashamed for putting such a half ass product on the market. I paid 59 bucks and got Call of Duty: Modern Warefare 2 and its in beautiful, mind boggling 1080p. That's worth 59 bucks. Your game looks like it belongs on xbox 1. I am pretty sure, you have just committed an act of Fraud, and I for one am very upset. I demand restitution. Thanks for producing this game, but no thanks for robbing me.

Well, it's definitely an EA game
If you play with a buddy I won't lie, the game is FUN. Personally I think the less you know about soccer the funner a head-to-head match is. However I have come across many frustrating issues while playing against the computer that severely bring down the games rating. All EA sports games seem to have the same little frustrating things. A few off the top of my head: When using the switch player button (you can choose which player to switch to by using the right stick, an EXCELLENT feature) you can't control who you are switching to, and just as in NHL it will switch you to someone who is completely out of the play instead of someone who is in prime position to make a defensive stop. As in NHL, the goalies have a mind of their own when it comes to clearing. I will have someone right in front of him and someone 30 yards away, when tapping X he elects to throw it to the guy 30 yards away - resulting in an immediate turnover. This goes for the field players as well. They will often pass to someone who is 20 yards away with two defenders in between instead of passing it to the player 5 yards away. This again causes more turnovers and is beyond frustrating. Worst of all in this game is your players complete lack of interest in getting a loose ball. I will literally watch my players back away from a loose ball instead of running for it - oh and by the way if a ball is on the air such as on a cross I often times cannot change players. Pushing L1 repeatedly does nothing and I'm stuck controlling the guy who is now no longer involved in the play. On clears they will run to the spot the ball will land on their own, but halfway they will stop and stand there, letting the other team get the ball. I have never seen in another sports game such a pathetic attempt by the AI. This really is what frustrates me the most about this game. Continuing on with the issues, DIVING. I HATE that EA has made diving so prevalent in this game. Your players would rather dive and slowly get up than get the ball and retain possession. You could be running forward with the ball, no defenders in front of you, get brushed up against, and your player will - instead of going to glory and scoring - immediately flop to the ground and give up possession. Along this note, even when they don't flop around they still stumble at the slightest touch (something the opposing CPU teams almost never do) so the computer can immediately snag the ball while your guy is stumbling around. This brings me to my final point. FOULS. Their is an obvious unbalance in the way the AI referees call games. Almost everytime I step in to the ball or even brush up against CPU players, I get called for a foul, meanwhile the AI can get away with horsecollaring me to the ground. I cannot count how many times I've been running on a break away only to be tripped up from behind without so much as a free kick, let alone a card. Summary: When playing with a buddy sitting in the same room as you this game can be loads of fun. While playing through it on your own becomes one of the most frustrating games I have played in a long time due to the lack of your players wanting to hold the ball, gain posession, and the bias AI referees.

2010 FIFA World Cup PS3
The best game of the World Cup, PERIOD! . Have the chance to win the World Cup with your favorite team or the team of your country (if this has never been in one). A familiar gameplay of EA Sports titles, which mix simulation with arcade in a perfect way, this game challenges and entertains you at the same time. Although not the FIFA series has become increasingly soccer simulation game, this title allows both experienced and novice have so much fun. PROS: -All teams in the world, play the world cup and try to beat te rest of the 31 teams of the tournament or from the beginning, qualify first. -Captain your country mode, allows you to be the protagonist from the classification to the tournament itself. -Challenge mode, allows you relive the history of the qualify or reverse it. -The online mode .. Infinite! that simple. You have Ranking matches, No ranking Matches, League with divisions and the hardest thing of all .. ONLINE WORLD CUP .. I have already more than a year with the game and I have not won it yet :(. CONS: Ea servers sometimes get a bit difficult to play, but it is a very specific situation. BOTTOM LINE BUY IT, not only a great game, if you are a lover of football-soccer it will last forever .. And it's a piece to collect to. Until 2014 Brazil

Good game for the once in a while player.
This game has all the attributes of a novelty game which I shall elaborate on in a moment. First I want to stress why I brought this game. I wanted a football game in which you can play as your respected nation and not a club. This game has certainly filled that expectation. The match play itself is very easy to pick up and go. Within minutes of the game I was able to pick up the feel of the controls. I was a bit disappointed by some of the graphics including the silly confetti that is scattered over the field during the match. However I like the realistic experience of the managers and the crowd reactions during each game which respond to each decision made in the match. There are a few cool features that come with this game. The first being the world cup tournament mode. This is pretty much self explanatory, and they have set up the group stages just like the world cup. One thing is for sure it is fun! Another cool feature is the Story of Qualifying modes which puts you into different scenarios to quality. It's quite interesting. You can also edit your individual players down to their uniform. For those die hard fan's that is something quite cool to give a little extra flare on the game. I would recommend this game to someone who wants a novelty item from this year's world cup due to the extra's in the game and I would recommend it to someone who wants to play a football match with just nations.

Best FIFA game so far! Can't wait to see what FIFA 11 will bring us.
This is by far the best FIFA Game so far. One of the best improvements over previous FIFA games are in my opinion the defense AIs. They now can actually stop shots and passes when they are close enough to the dribbler. The goal keeper AI is also greatly improved. He can actually come out to get the back pass where in previous games he just stands there and makes the entire back passing almost impossible to achieve. The other great improvement is that now we have REAL Dutch players! Unlike previous FIFA series, we had made up Dutch players. You now will get your favorite Dutch players with their new uniform (a different type of orange, i liked the old orange color myself but it's just me) Passing is still about the same compared to FIFA 09 and 08 and diagonal through ball is still one of the most lethal passes. Crowd noises are much better than the previous games but the horns are kinda annoying but i guess EA wants to keep the South African theme going i guess. Overall this is an excellent soccer game.
