If you love Catan because it's a different game every time you play, this is the best expansion for you! It contains a bunch of variations that can be used individually with your regular board, or in combination with each other. For example, in the fish scenario, one of the tiles is replaced with a pond that gives you fish when you roll 2,3,11 or 12. You can then use the fish to purchase resources, build roads or move the robber off your best tile. Another variation is a deck of cards which replaces the dice. This gives the game a much different dynamic, as it eliminates the chance-y dice. This expansion is well worth the cost - it truly enhances the Catan experience.

Great game! One of the best! Glad I picked this 5-6 player extension on sale. It gives you the ability to add 5-6 players to the expansion which is 4 player based. *** In order to use this item you MUST have the Catan 4 player original base game AND the 5-6 player extension BASE game. *** all around, 5 stars. (however, the packaging inside for holding the contents of the game is subpar at best. This pertains to ALL Catan expansions/extensions. That's one thing I wish they would have thought out before hand. One piece of blow molded plastic attempting to hold the contents just doesn't suffice. If the box turns on it's side of upside down, the pieces go everywhere. It's a good thing I made my own box with dividers and storage containers to combat this issue. Other than that. Great product!

This is an excellent extension if you have more than 4-players that love the addition of fish. The Fishermen of Catan rule set is really the only reason I have T&B and now that I have a larger gaming group to play with this purchase was a no-brainer. Of course be aware that in order to use this set you need: -Base Catan Game -Catan 5-6 Player Extension -Traders & Barbarians Expansion Every 5-6 Player Extension requires that you own their respective Base expansion PLUS the Base Catan Game with the regular Catan 5-6 Extension.

The Katan game and it's many variations is simply the best board game ever made. Well worth it. Our favorite board game now, hands down. And we have had so many games over the years we've had to cull them down many times.

Traders and Barbarians adds several scenarios to play. Its great to mix them with other expansions. It worth it if you play often and don't mind if the games take a little longer.
