Husband loves it
This was a gift for my husband, and he loves it. He finds the pieces to be well molded, realistic, and they fit together very well. I was pleased with the speed of shipping as well as the excellent packing. This was a good experience for both the giver of the gift and the receiver. Thank you.

Months to deliver
Product is good, but it took a very long time to ship from Japan... months past the expected due date. I know COVID was a factor, but this was far longer to ship than anything else I ordered around that time.

Great kit of M60A3 Main Battle Tank.
This is a great kit of the M60A3 Main Battle Tank in 1:35 scale. This kit was issued in the 1980s. This kit is actually an updated (for the time of issue) of the 1970s model kit of Tamiya's M60A1 Main Battle Tank. The difference between the real M60A1 & M60A3 was an updated engine, more modern main gun, updated fire control system, and other improvements.Hull of kit has holes in bottom for a switch to protrude from in order to operate the little motor that Tamiya used to include in their model kits. Tamiya intended for their model kits to move around on their own power. The little motor is not included any longer. Also, the inside of hull still has the brackets to mount the batteries and motor. For an older kit, fit was actually very good. There are 2 side pieces to the hull that were just a bit finicky, but went into proper position. Rest of kit pretty much went together without any problems. One area to watch out for and is a pain in rear-end to build is the rear turret bustle rack (same problem that I had with the M60A1 kit). Bustle rack has numerous parts and also has some mesh to replicate the cage. After numerous attempts I just left the bustle rack off - kit still looks good. There are 2 side rails along turret that needed to be super-glued in place for better stability. There are 2 crew figures: 1 commander figure from the original M60A1 kit and 1 commander figure depicting 1980s woodland style camouflage uniform. The 1980s style figure has better detail. Track shoes are single piece and have very good detail on both sides. Kit also comes with 2 different styles for the 105mm main gun: 1 for US Army use & 1 for US Marine Corps use. The US Marines still use the M60 main battle tank as well as the M1 Abrams. I found an excellent after market main gun barrel and used that instead. There is also a very basic drivers compartment - no engine!Instruction sheet is easy to follow and provides a brief history of the M60A3 in multiple languages, suggested paint guide for US Army & US Marine Corps vehicles and suggested decal placement for US Army & US Marine Corps. Decals went on kit without any problems. Thread is provided for tow cables. M60s used to have a light mounted above the main gun and one is included with kit, though no clear plastic is given for the lens. Also included are 2 metal rods for the drive sprockets and front road wheels to be fitted onto.Believe it or not, there is plenty of references out there for the general public to view, just go to any VFW building for there is usually a tank displayed outside and it would most likely be an M60A1 or M60A3. I painted my kit with 1980s NATO paint colors for I used to be around these things while in the Army during the 1980s - brought back memories. Lots of foreign armies still use the M60 series of tanks and this tank would probably look good painted up in something different. While browsing Tamiya's web-site a few months ago, noticed that they are getting ready to re-issue this kit, the M60A1 kit, and the M60A2 kit in the future. Nothing says if they are just going to be a re-issue or re-tooled (better and sharper detail) kits.Overall, great model for younger persons to build, though parts count may be just a bit too much for them - maybe. Also, the hand rails and rear turret bustle rack may give them problems - suggest leaving those items off. Just be sure to choose the Army or Marine Corps version when instructions specify parts needed. Remember that this is a plastic model kit and construction is included. Paint/glue not included.

Accurately detailed
Having served in Army on the M60A3 in the 80-s, I had to have one of these and assembled it a few years back. When we moved it was destroyed so I now have an A3 with dozer attachment on the way to me. Every platoon had a tank with the dozer on front-end for digging defensive burm positions and various other jobs. Agree, would be nice for rear doors to open revealing an engine. These tanks are a beast and the last of the Patton line.
