FEL-PRO 1628 Engine Valve Cover Gasket Set

I have a '77 Chevy Nova w/ GM Crate 350 engine. The passenger side valve cover gasket was leaking on and off on this engine. I pulled the valve covers off and they had super thin and old cork gaskets! I don't even think there was any sealant or anything on these cork gaskets! but I changed them both out with these Few-Pro 1628 valve cover gaskets! these things are BAD TO THE BONE! I am not going to lie! the only downfall and ONLY reason they did not get a 5th star was the price. Even though they are quality, $50 for 2 gaskets are pretty nuts! But paying for quality worked here as these puppies are awesome! I haven't seen a drop of oil leak on my 350 SBC yet! Thanks Fel-Pro! just wish you weren't in it for the money and charged so dang much!

Need to have longer bolts to install.Should last the life of the car. Amazing gasket.Taller than the OEM and not a problem. Has spacer built in so you can't crush the casket.Not a drop of sealant and leaks NO OIL. Used on stock 1981 corvette valve covers. should work with any.Install on clean metal.

For the price of these gaskets, you could buy several high-quality cork gasket sets and glue them to your valve covers. But based on the recommendation of a friend, I tried these out and was very happy with the no-leak results. When you look at how skinny these are where they touch the engine head, you would bet that they are going to leak...but they don't . (If they DO leak, you are probably not managing the crankcase pressure correctly by venting the fumes which will blow out any gasket or rear main seal). Remember to look for small words on the gaskets that tell you which side faces the intake manifold since these are directional. They would look better in black, not blue, but work fine.

EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED! SBCs always leak yes, but these solve a lot of problems. I have learned you can either spend a lot of money on machined valve covers and a little money on gaskets, or spend a little money on stamped valve covers and lot of money on gaskets. The other option is let oil leak everywhere. These Fel-Pro gaskets are the best! If there was ever a valve issue as well, I have confidence I could take the cover off and resuse these.

Great reusable gaskets, haven't had a problem with leaks yet, and gave me some extra clearance to fit roller rockers under my stock covers. Wish they came in red/ orange to blend in with a Chevy motor, but they do a great job in ugly blue. Would look great on a Ford! If I didn't need the clearance, I'd have probably gone with a cheaper gasket, as these are quite costly.

My rating is based on these gaskets used in combination with ARP 2007603 hardware.Yes, this combination is expensive but results are delivered. I've owned my engine since 1978 and this is the first time my factory stamped valve covers are bone dry. Good luck!

I was having trouble with other Thick gaskets being too wide. They would contact the Intake manifold.These gaskets are thick while maintaining a normal width. Problem solved with these.

Been struggling for years with the cheaper Fel-Pro rubber gaskets and having leaks on my 350. These did the trick and are worth the money. Would recommend valve cover studs too!

Not cheap but they are reusable and fit perfectly. Put them on a chev 350 and no leaks - these engines are notorious for leaking valve covers. Would recommend.

I have tried many other valve cover gaskets and alway would leak oil . These felpro 1628 are the best valve cover gaskets . Yes they are pricey buy trust me they are worth every penny. All the felpro blue gaskets are great . It's the only gaskets I will ever buy.

I Still have to put a small amout of high temp silicone on the corner even a clean it well and toque it too the specs.

These should be the first one and only one to buy. Fits perfectly on my 383. They go on dry. Worth it! I went through 3x silicone gaskets and 1x cork, all worthless.
