I had a small house fire in the crawl space that left charred wood on the joists and under portion of the wood floor. My insurance company was of little help because they didn't know any local fire damage repair contractors and they didn't want additional liability if they recommended a poor contractor. No one would perform any repair because the job was rather small (<600sf) and in a rural area( too far to drive).I found this product on Amazon after much research. I discussed my project with the Recon staff and they recommended a three step process. I used their cleaner ( Step1) along with mechanical removal of the char , the odor reactor that has a fragrance(step 2) enhancer and (Step 3) the odor sealer. The process went well with one exception. Step 2, has a strong fragrance after application and took over 3 days to disapparate. It smells like the dryer sheets "Bounce".Since my wife has allergies and damaged lungs, for the second 1/2 the job I used only step 1 & 3 products. The Smoke sealer and Stain Blocker worked very well both with the Step 1 & 2 material (first 1/2 of the job) and as well as only the 1st and 3rd step (Smoke Odor sealer) on the second 1/2.After applying the odor cleaner, I applied the Smoke Odor Remover and Stain Blocker. The product worked well. It was easy to apply with an airless spray gun. The job went fast . No smoke order and there was no fragrance left over.
