Yes it is, I've used it while sitting in a chair, on the sofa and also while lying down in bed. It was good in all three places. It was also good holding a Stephen King book which over a thousand pages long and also a smaller book. I hope this helps.

Yes, it can. It's very comfortable to use while lying in bed, even lying on your side. Both hard cover and paper backs fit very well, and the plastic thing to hold the pages in place is effective.

Q: Every color for the Book Seat seems to have different measurements--does anyone know if the colors are the same size? Thanks!

I’ve order 4. Brown, blue, green, purple. Didn’t see any difference in size but I guess I never read “size”before ordering. Think I order from same place. Hope this helps.

Q: Which color is easiest on the eyes while reading?

I bought both of mine in gray. The color just washes out next to the book and I also find it fits in with any decor.
