I purchased a 2006 dodge 4x4 with a 5.9 cummins that has sentimental value for our family. The truck sat for two years with the same oil. When I purchased it I changed the oil and added a purolator 1 filter. The oil was instantly black from the soot. This is normal and not a horrible thing. however, I could not stand it. i changed the oil at 1500 miles and installed this filter. The oil was black after the first start up, but the oil began to get cleaner and cleaner every time I checked it. I checked the oil at 25 miles and there was only a hint of soot in the oil. I was blown away. I will continue to use this product. I will not run extended drain intervals. I dont mind the added cost to have clean fresh oil. Oil pressure was normal.

This is the ideal filter for any 6.7L CTD. If you run a name brand synthetic oil You can run this filter for 2 OCIs maybe longer. I run this filter with Schaeffers 5W-40 in my 2017 Ram. Most owners won’t even think of paying this much for a filter but most anal owners know its 2 filters in one! It’s a great filter for a New 6.7L CTD Ram: Run it for 2 OCIs.

Since I've deleted the truck a few years ago I've been able to run extended oil change as oil doesn't get washed with diesel anymore. This filter, combined with Rotella T6, allows me to go 30,000 miles between oil changes, verified by oil testing from Blackstone Labs. I wished it had the shape on the housing to be able to use a cup wrench, but I never had any issue mounting or dismounting the filter. Very pleased!!!!

Great filter that has a built in bypass style element that filters to 5 microns. I still change the oil at the recommended interval even though it says extended service. It’s costs a little more, but I doubt any other spin on filter can remove particles down to 5 microns. My Ram has oil change intervals every 15,000, so this gives me piece of mind going that long.
