If you want 100% black out these are not them, but darn do these do a great job of blocking most light. The darker ones I ordered for 2 bedrooms have the rooms in the day looking like its night. Most light from the curtains that one notices comes from above the curtains that bounce off the top and hit the wall or ceilings above. No smell to any of the curtains we ordered . We all love the color of this aqua the most but the other colors are also pretty. Bit more green in person than the blue I see on my computer but it's beautiful and I find it very relaxing to look at. After getting this Aqua-ish color we decided to paint the walls to compliment the color more even(similar color with a bit more blue). These curtains have the white back (spary on I think?) coating rather than the black weave material, so it repeals the heat but will make it more difficult for washing and drying IMO.They are heavy - thick enough that they hang straight and as suggested probably block out a bit more noise. As in I slept through late hours of 4th of July fireworks in our neighbor hood. Usually in our area we have them going off for weeks so any bit noise blocking helps. After buying these I ordered more of these curtains in different colors. We always prewash things before use and have done this for many years but chose not to wash these because they are not being worn and have no smell and are Oeko-tex certified and sold by Amazon felt we would wait to wash when they got dirty. Did not notice any headaches or issues after hanging these( and with allergies in our family I was asking and paying attention first week of hanging. I am most should probably still wash these just to be on the safe side for VOC;s but wanted to share we were in hurry to put these up and choose not to wash them first and these seemed fine. MOST HOME PRODUCTS OFF GAS, SO LIMITING OFF GASING AND DUST PARTICLES FROM PRODUCTS WHEN ONE CAN IS ALWAYS A GOOD THING IMO. Have had these hanging for a couple months now and I think these are quality curtains. For those looking to remove wrinkles might want to steam them, because they do hold onto wrinkles from packaging.

These curtains are absolutely adorable! The quality is great and they keep the room dark when you’re trying to sleep. The design is super cute!

The moment my daughter sees any ray of daylight she’s wide awake. Absolutely no possible way to go back to sleep. It could be 5-9am before she realizes its morning. The 5am mornings are why the purchase had to happen. She’s 6 and I can’t believe we’ve lasted this long without blackout curtains. I guess it’s just always been discouraging looking for them. Honestly, most aren’t what there supposed to be, the deal looks good but then reviews show another story. But I have another daughter now. Wake me up? Fineee imma be annoyed but let’s start the day at 5am lol. WAKE THE BABY UP AT 5am?!?! Nope. I’ve had enough of that. These curtains are amazing. No more half dead mommy adventures at 5am. Bought these to cover a doorway to a closet and create a reading nook for the kids and wanted something that pulled in multiple colors and was thick enough to keep it dark in the closet. After buying and returning another similar set, I bought this and they are PERFECT! They are thick and durable and the design is in the fabric not just printed on top. Definitely worth the money hands-down!

Ended up returning these. Originally bought in pink and gray buffalo plaid. So 'gray' is actually the blue you see on the picture, not gray at all)) The packaging was great and sturdy, the curtains are very thick and heavy, they are really blackout! Nice colors. But they seemed a little too heavy for a kids' room. Plus I didn't like that they are made of polyester. I wanted the room to 'breathe' more. Overall good quality and color if you are looking for blackout curtains!

I'm so impressed with the value and quality of these curtains. We put them in one kid's room and came back for two more sets for other rooms. Usually nice blackout curtains only come in solid colors, so it's great to find a variety of cute patterns. They do block a lot of light, too, which helps keep the rooms cooler during the sunny part of the day and dark at night. We paired these with the Eclipse wraparound curtain rods in all three rooms and have been very happy with this setup.

I got the shorter length not the full length would you goes all the way down to the floor. I figured with couple of cats and furniture it wasn't advantageous in our case. yet the shorter ones still cover the entire window what about a foot extra space. It definitely is room darkening and it's perfect for my child's room. I'm sure not only blocks out the sun but also keeps the room cool. And the pattern is really vibrant dark navy blue. We got a matching bed in a bag set from Walmart and I also purchased a light switch cover that had the same matching print.

My son’s room somehow gets early morning light and also the hot afternoon sun. Now that summer is upon us he’s waking at 5:30am and driving his tired old mom crazy. These curtains completely block the afternoon sun. The two pictures were taken mid afternoon on a bright, cloudless day. (We had to close the blinds so the camera could get something) In the second picture my camera is trying to correct the light, but in reality there is almost no daylight coming through. Clearly, the light blocking works with the navy blue starlight curtains. Also, they were so cheap! (I almost bought 4 because I thought the price was for one panel like most curtains) They are also really beautiful, satiny but not shiny.

First, when I placed this order it said 1-3 months for delivery and they ended up coming in just over a week! They are great quality for the price and are sturdier than I was expecting. For a kids’ room, I think these are perfect: they keep out daylight, they are well made, and they are cute. I haven’t washed them yet, hence the wrinkles in the photos, so when I wash them I’ll amend my review, if needed.Second, the colour of the Grey Buffalo Plaid is not grey at all. I wanted blue curtains for my son’s room but didn’t want a bold pattern that would clash with his bedding. I suspected this colour wouldn’t be grey, looking at the product photos and decided to take a chance. They’re a lovely, muted blue.
