As I said in the title, I really liked the design concept of this bag for a day on the river. I think it's going to work out fairly well, but a few tweaks could make this bag a real winner.First, the body of it may be waterproof, but I'm not sure I'd use it in the rain. This is due to the zipper closure not extending all the way to the sides of the bag. Not that big of a deal for my intended use though since I don't tend to go to the river when it's raining. Although the other design aspect that I'm not a big fan of (see below) may mitigate this concern.Secondly, I liked the idea of the grab handles and the backpack straps for versatility. However, I'm not a big fan of how the backpack straps are routed. The straps start on the side away from your body, I'm assuming to pull the top closed when it's worn that way. The problem is that they run through plastic loops/buckles on the side closest to your body. To access the interior of the bag, you have to pull the straps back through, but they still seem to be in the way a little. Again, this may be an intentional design to help mitigate water concerns, but it just makes access a little slower.Overall, not a bad bag and I think it will work out for my intended purpose.

This bag was purchased as a gift for an outdoors man who loves to hunt and fish. He hunts in all sorts of weather in the snow and rain and the material should come in handy. But am not sure exactly how it will hold up in the elements since it hasn’t been taken out in that type of weather yet. The one thing I did have a problem with was the zipper. It got twisted and stuck for a second. I fixed it by making sure the zipper area was completely straight and then was able to zip the bag again. The zipper doesn’t run all the way across the top as well. There are also no outside pockets. The inside is very nice with two large areas to put your items and a nice material which seems to be waterproof. Lastly I really appreciate how the bag can either be carried as a back pack or by the handles like a grocery bag. Thanks for a great product!
