Star Trek-Roddenberry Vault [Blu-ray]

As a vintage sci-fi viewer (i.e.: I'm getting old) I have very fond memories of watching the Original Series on the BBC in the late-70s. Having bought the video release, DVDs, etc. the prospect of unseen footage was absolutely irresistible! A nice package with new interviews, isolated soundtracks and so on. I think it might be a good time for someone to sit down and make a definite documentary about the Original Series utilising the Vaults material akin to the 3-Hour Blade Runner documentary "Dangerous Days" with as much archive interviews, vintage news clips, etc. as possible. Nevertheless, this release is a minor gem and I can't help wondering if there might be another in the near future . . . ?

The disc set has some episodes that have already been released on Blu ray elsewhere.What I really bought this for was the bonus material.There are 6 featurettes that are around 30 minutes long each over the 3 discs..They are quite informative .As for the found lost footage there seems to be about 30 minutes worth of cutting room clips salvaged from Roddenberrys vault.Its a shame they could not have found more but for the asking price of £10 these discs are good value for the 3 hours bonus material!!!

One of the reasons you might like this is because it a segment of deleted scenes from the original series.Like the blue ray series each episode had not only the original effects episode and the enhanced versions but stand alone music track episodesThere's a cart load of features over the 3 discs trekies will Like this

Theres some controversy over how the deleted footage is presented - ie, interspersed through documentaries - but whats there is great, especially the Uhura stuff. This could have been better done, but its a trekkie treat - don’t pay more than £15 though!

Worth every penny and more! I hope they do more. Just one deleted scene was worth the cost. Many have complained that there isn't enough, but just listen to the deleted scene where Uhura sings "Beyond Antares" in full.

A pricey purchase at £20, especially for fans who already own the classic show on bluray. The documentaries where fun but not worth the price tag. As mentioned in other reviews, CBS missed the opportunity to splice missing or alternative takes with existing footage, also baffled why the music only option for each episode is only for the original, but cleaned up, mono soundtrack. The re-recorded 7.1 music sounds superb, another missed opportunity. Would have been fun to see some new bloopers, they must have existed.

Dedicato ai fans di Star Trek, ha alcuni episodi tra i più salienti e diversi "fuori onda". Tuttavia mi aspettavo più inediti, ne parlano molto nelle interviste, ma poi ce ne sono in numero inferiore. Gli episodi non sono tutti quelli più famosi, ma quelli considerati importanti per qualche motivo. La lingua inglese/sottotitoli in inglese non ho potuto usarla, come se i sottotitoli fossero fuori sinc. Ho usato l'italiano.
