Sturdy thick tempered glass with measurements built in. Little need for a ruler. Stays firmly in place on my crafting table and is very easy to clean the glue and adhesive I am constantly getting on it. I still need a small rubber mat for use with my cutting knife to keep my blades from getting dull . You can cut on the glass but I find it dulls my blades too quick. Well worth the investment.

I've bought a lot of supplies since I started doing making greeting cards and other similar crafts. And I tried a variety of different types of mats to work on. But this glass mat by Crafter's Companion is the best kind of mat I've tried and one of my top supply purchases. Unlike a plastic mat, it doesn't melt when I use a heat gun. Unlike a silicone mat, all those bits of paper, glitter, etc. don't stick to it. I can wipe off debris with my hand straight into my trash can. I can clean off dye, paint, etc. with either water or alcohol. And when glue or other products dry on it, I can easily scrape it off with a razor blade. No matter what I do to it or get on it, it always ends up looking good as new after a quick cleaning. It's worth every penny...if you don't have one, get it NOW!

Makes a great permanent base for my large gel plate, so I can even work with my gel plate on my lap while watching tv (hey, it’s not my fault that gel plate printing is completely addictive). The glass mat is large enough that it even leaves room on the left and right edges for a few bottles or tubes of paint. The glass is light enough that, even with the gel plate on it, the glass mat is easy to pick up, put down, or move wherever you want. And, no question about it, the gel plate adheres firmly to the glass.

Well made product. Thick glass not that thin glass that would break easy. Very happy with purchase.

Haven’t had this long enough to rate for durability, but it appears well made. The single thing I DON’T like about this is the fact there are no 1/8” markings. I rely on small, incremental markings when making my cards, and this does not provide enough measure. My bad, though, I guess I didn’t read the description well enough. Love, love, love the easy clean-up, tho!!

It’s heavier than I anticipated, but not so much that it’s not easy to move around. Love it.
