Aquascape 98905 Barley Straw Extract for Pond and Stream Features, 32-Ounce

This week was the first week to use the barley straw extract so there is no visible change in string algae growth. I hope with the addition of two other non-chemical additives, my algae problem will be solved before warm weather sets in.Will update later.

I've used this to clear the pond of green color to pond and it works great. I'm still trying to manage my string algae. Lack of shade on my part for the pond. However with this product I don't have tea color in my pond or green. I can see my fish which is always a plus

My turtle pond - 10’ round above ground kiddie pool - for my “kids”7-9 pumps and algae is a goner. I just have to remember rot pump it in. I also use bales, depending upon “weather” or not it will rain

So far, it works great. There is no smell in comparison to other extracts and is easy to dispense. Great product from Aquascape. Way to go Greg Wittstock!

Did not work at all. Added to my pond and next day one of my 15 year old koi was dead. Not pleased. Did nothing to clear up the algae.

It does help to reduce the appearance of algae. It doesn't seem to be enough to achieve clear water. I am happy enough with the results to not go back to using the chemical solution.

Save your money, not worth anything. May have just been water, lol.

I used this for my outdoor goldfish pond. I used as directed and nothing. I added more and more and still nothing. It was like adding water.
