They actually work! Even in 100 degree Texas heat! Came 3 to a pack. Super easy to use. They keep my husband much cooler than those neck fans that don’t do anything but blow hot air. Doesn’t leave your shirt soaking wet. Flexible & Comfortable to wear around the neck. Exterior material feels a little like swimsuit material. The interior squishy stuff (cooling technology) stays pregnant with water for days. Drying them out takes awhile, BUT that is a positive because he’s not having to stop what he’s doing to go re-soak them. I pack one in a thermos with a lid until he’s ready to use it when it gets hot. Would buy these again!

I used them today during a hike in Las Vegas (83°) and they worked great at keeping me cool.

The only thing, and the reason I gave it four stars instead of five, is there’s nothing to keep the beads evenly distributed throughout the band. I’m going to add some stitches to create pockets and keep some of the beads at the back of my neck. That may be something the brand can do to improve the design. Put an equal amount of beads in like four pockets. Otherwise I think it’ll work for what I need it for, my body can’t regulate its temperature so I get too hot just doing normal activity inside the home so wearing it while cooking will help. It already helped me drive an hour on 105 degree heat with a poorly AC. I like that’s it cloth so it doesn’t get too cold on the skin and/or cause ice burns. I like that you just have to soak it and not wait for it to freeze. That’ll be helpful for lake and river day or beach days. I might even try to sleep with it and see if it helps cool me down at night.

I was hoping the KOOLGATOR Evaporative Cooling Neck Wrap would be a reliable way to stay cool during long, hot days outdoors, but unfortunately, it didn’t fully meet my expectations. While the design and fit were fine, I found that the cooling effect didn’t last very long — maybe 30–45 minutes at most, even in the shade. I followed the instructions for soaking and activating it, but the relief was short-lived, especially during more intense heat. I was also disappointed to find that the wrap didn’t hold up over time; after regular use over a few months, it started to degrade and didn’t last more than 6 months before it became unusable. It might work well for short activities or very light outdoor use, but for anything extended or demanding, I’d look for something more durable with longer-lasting cooling. Good concept, but fell short for me.

The basic idea of a water-activated, reusable cooling method is a good one. Follow the directions and you will indeed get some cooling relief for a time. Unfortunately, the small neck wrap warms up quickly from body heat and and the cooling effect from the beads inside is quickly dissipated. Not useful beyond about 45 minutes in hot summer weather. In addition, this neck wrap gets VERY sweaty (and possibly dirt-covered) when wearing it to garden, mow, do other yardwork, sports, etc. You really need to be able to handwash such a thing; who wants a sweaty/crusty neckerchief? The only problem is that the neck wrap this takes DAYS if not WEEKS to dry out after being handwashed washed and hung up. You don't really want to store it away when wet, so the only recourse is to leave these damp, floppy tubes hanging over a towel rod or over a doorknob (or on a drying rack in front of a fan) until they are dry enough to put away. (Rather unsightly.) I think your best bet-- rather than purchasing this item-- is a cooling ice-pack style neck wrap that you can hand wash-- one that dries quickly and can be kept in the fridge or freezer between uses. This is the solution I eventually went for; it lasts longer and is far more effective and practical.

Very disappointed. I spend three hours at a shelter working afternoons, outside in low humidity, roughly 90-105 degree heat (so far, it's not July yet). I followed the set-up instructions exactly, and got it ready about 15 minutes before my shift. It barely works. I had been using a wet hand towel before and that worked much better. The Koolgator dries and loses its cooling pretty rapidly, then remains a slightly cool tube around your neck. Nothing special. That's the thing - nothing special. I was so excited to get some sort of enhanced effect because of the beads and design. I would return it but not worth the effort. Towel vs Koolgator - I'll take the towel. As an aside, the beads quickly settle on either side of your neck with nothing behind it and it takes forever to dry.

J'ai utilisé une seule fois à date, aussitot qu'on le met on sent le refroidissement, mais cet effet disparait plus le temps avance. Je présume que si on le retire et qu'on le remet après quelque temps l'effet de refroidissement se fera sentir à nouveau. Le point que je n'aime pas du tout, c'est l'attache, c'est une petite attache à pression (snap) en plastique qui est difficile a attacher et qui à beaucoup de difficulté à rester attaché, a un point tel que l'on est jamais certain s'il est attaché ou non. Pour le prix il y a surement d'autres produits qui offrent de meilleure performances.

Keeps overall temperature cool - used it in 45degrees heat - really helped make that small difference from unbearable heat to bearable heat outdoors
