Got as a gift for my brother and he loved it very mesmerizing.

My daughter asked for this for her birthday. It has been a great purchase, especially for the price. We did return the first purchase because the two magnets were broken, but for the replacement we decided to only use one magnet. If you do use both, just try to make sure that they don't touch as them clasping together is what can cause the breakage. Overall, she still pulls this out often even after several months, and it facinates everyone from young kids to adults.

I always try to get my nephew cool science gifts and figured he would love this once I saw it. It's a pretty basic kit, you could likely source all the parts yourself but honestly the included magnets and glass bottle have a great look and were worth the price for me. It's on the small size but still manages to impress. Kids had a ton of fun playing with it, attention lasted on it way longer than expected. It did the job, fun toy, educational and kept the kids interest.

My kids love their "pet venom". There is a bubble in the container the Ferrofluid can get stuck in. I feel like it adds to the experiment, one more aspect to play around with. Add a bit more and you can make it float, take it out and you can see the oil left in the bubble. All around a lot of fun!

This was cool for about a day, then it broke.

This is a simple but really clean and tidy way to see how ferro fluid reveals a magnetic field. It's much more sensitive than plain old iron filings. Being contained in a bottle, it's much tidier than raw ferro fluid, which is super messy if you're not super careful. One warning they don't give you is that the bottle cap just screws on (or off) and, if this is given to children, they might unscrew the cap which would release the fluids all over the floor and make one heck of a mess. They don't give any information about what hazard this might be. If nothing else, the ferro fluid will never come out of the carpet. My bottle arrived with an air bubble, and the vendor responded nearly immediately with an offer to send a replacement. I'm very happy with this interesting scientific novelty and the vendor that sells it.

Definitely isn't what you see in the picture. Neat in theory, not in practice.
