''..35007's third full-length release, 2002's Liquid, is a fully instrumental, conceptual effort consisting of just four songs that, one presumes, are meant to illustrate the fluid state in musical form. Not only do they succeed in this endeavor, 35007 also churns out some truly inspiring and out-and-out cinematic sonic vistas that in the end coalesce into a single, awesome musical wave (pun intended). Rising from the ocean depths on the cusp of slowly building synthesizers, 11-minute opener ''Tsunami'' eventually crashes like a million gallons on a beach of ultraheavy, stoner rock guitar riffs. Appearing to rock and sway with the ebb and flow of tides, ensuing numbers ''Crystalline'' and ''Evaporate'' take the shorter route to shore by locking into rhythmically rotating bass guitar figures that spray psychedelic accents in the surf. And in 14-minute closer ''Voyage Automatique,'' 35007 attains a hypnotic trance-groove perfection, at once blissful and utterly seductive. Do away with all of these watery metaphors and Liquidstill stands as a major accomplishment in the ambient rock field, and a recommended introduction to both 35007 and the genre at large…'' ALLMUSIC

Something a bit different
Four lengthy atmospheric and mostly ambient tracks (total running time about 40 minutes). A Dutch blend of sonic experimentation, beatless smooth noises and a few strung-out guitars. Mostly it's pretty mesmering. Track 2 descends slightly into a pastiche of prog rock but mostly the standard's very good.

Incredible trip!
I was a little late to the party on these guys, but I'm glad that I finally found them! I am a fan of the usual stoner rock and instrumental rock standards...if you are too, then you will love this. This particular 35007 album reminds me a lot of Mogwai, who I also love.

Their Best So Far
Released on May 27th of 2002, 35007's (a.k.a. LOOSE) "Liquid" picks up where their EP "Sea of Tranquility" left off. "Liquid" is a truly exceptional instrumental album. Gone are the vocals which often seemed to be the weak link in their sound. Also gone is some of the mystery of the group, as for the first time the band members are listed on the back of the CD.The CD cover includes the words 'Original Sound Track Recording' before the title, but you will not find the movie on video. As bassist Michel Boekhoudt described it, it is "a soundtrack designed to make your own headmovie to." For those not familiar with the group, they play a type of progressive music which is often described as "Stoner Rock", although they don't care for that particular label. The music on this album is reminiscent of Pink Floyd after Syd Barrett left and before they released "Animals", although clearly the absence of vocals on the entire album means that the comparison only goes so far. The entire album is less than 40 minutes long, and consists of just four tracks ("Tsunami", "Crystalline", "Evaporate", and "Voyage Automatique"); however it is a wonderful listening experience.35007 is a Dutch group, which first came on the scene in 1994. Their small catalog indicates that they are more interested in quality than quantity. The group consists of Mark Sponselee (guitar, bass, drums, synths, and effects), Bertus Fridael (guitar), Michel Boekhoudt (bass), and Sander Evers (drums). The CD also credits Luk Sponselee (visuals), and introduces Rene van Barneveld (pedalsteel).

love it
Great space rock, instrumental jam stuff! Honestly if you like bands like Earthless, the Heads, Hawkwind and the like then PICK THIS ONE UP!!!!!! It's ~40min. of a hypnotic ride ,not too long to bore but even if it were longer it wouldn't anyway. It will start off like the beginning of Star Wars( you might even see the story lines floating across the space horizon) then it hits you with riffs and the ride begins. Once you are dropped off at the end you will not be able to remember much except that it was awesome and you will hit repeat and re-embark on the journey. It's very reminiscent of krautrock too, there are all sorts of analog effects added to the sonic jams that take in elements of Cluster,NEU,etc. and the improv. jams of bands such as CAN and AMON DUUL II just to name a few. I'd recommend this to people, along with the aforementioned bands, of all interests in music because it is just too good to pass up. It's pricey due to the IMPORT tag on it, but if you have any legitimate interest in good tunes then that will rarely be enough to set you back when purchasing an album.
