I've been a fan of the Asterix comics for decades, and the prospect of reading some adventures I hadn't seen was exciting. What a disappointment. The first story is not an adventure, but a self-indulgent celebration of the comic history. It could be fun standalone, but it is not a replacement for what I was seeking. The next two are written and illustrated by newcomers Ferri and Conrad. I have no issues with the art - Conrad has imitated Uderzo's style well enough. But Ferri's writing doesn't come close to Goscinny's.

Book arrived damaged. Spine damaged in 3 locations. Entire top righthand upper corner has been folded over.

I am glad that the new authors are continuing with the stories. Perhaps not as good as the Goscinny & Uderzo, but those are extremely large shoes to fill. A very commendable effort by the new guys. Hope the story continues...
