Great for my kitty
I do not write reviews very often but had to for this item.Having to take my sick kitty across the country for some specialized care I needed a new carrier. It is stylish but very functional. My sweet boy did pee in the carrier on the flight and it held all of his urine. It cleaned up very easily, I soaked the inside with vinegar and hot soapy water for about 2 hours. Rinsed and hung to dry.It also has a Velcro strap on the side that allows it to be fitted to the pull thingy that comes up from the suitcase to pull/push the luggage. It was awesome for going through the airport and waiting in lines. It is great build quality. It cameSuper fast and I would definitely purchase again. My boy is a big cat and has to lay down in it but that’s ok. We used someAnxiety meds from the vet and he napped for most of the 7 hours he was in it.

Sold
I was hesitant getting this carrier because although it was rated very well and I loved the style, it just seemed too expensive. However, I decided to go for it for my new Chihuahua puppy. It was exactly what I was looking for. I love that it’s open with mesh so that the puppy can be exposed and present without getting overwhelmed. I love that it opens from the top as well as the front so I can create a little key for him for security or put him in at night For sleeping. It’s great for transport and will definitely fit under any airline seat, although I don’t plan on taking him. The inside has a pad that is washable. So you can take the pad out and then unzip it to wash it if needed. It’s really soft material. Overall I think it’s great! Really love the it has both shoulder straps and a longer strap if you want to do a Crossbody. The straps are true rope. Really heavy actually! So it’s good quality.

Timmy's New Carrier bag
My cat Timmy loves it. I think that he feels more secure in it because of its cozy set up. It is easy to carry and its very sturdy as well. I can also take it on the plane so that is comforting to me to have Timmy close to me.

Excellent except the cost
I had not anticipated how convenient it would be to have the top opening design. Both my dog and I find that to be far better than side entry. This bag has enough side fabric to keep my dog warm during flights and to let him look out. I add a fleece blanket for extra warmth and comfort. The large size, compared to my small dog, gives him room to relax. He seems quite cozy and happy to be inside. I wrap the handles around my suitcase handle to easily glide through airports. And, of course, the handles look great. The cost is ridiculously expensive (thus 4 instead of 5 stars), but the quality is good, it suits our needs and we'll use it for years.

So far so good…
I ultimately opted for this because the quality seemed better than others and for the size. It looks kinda big but not really.. I’m hopeful that I won’t have issues with American Airlines. It didn’t immediately strike me as “way too big”.. but may be a tight squeeze under the seat. My 18-19 lb pug fits in the large 19” size well. He’s lean but kinda leggy/long so anything smaller would’ve been uncomfortable. He is also not used to be caged.. so I have not closed the top on him yet.. gave him some treats while sitting in it.. used this in place of his car seat on a ride today.. trying to get him used to it. I’m moving in June and it will be his first time flying.. I’m crossing my fingers. I will update once the eagle has landed!UPDATE: no issue at all from American Airlines.. bag fit under the seat even better than I expected.. no squishing required.. it was an airbus A321. The biggest issue was my pug being hot inside the bag.. he was already a little worked up when he had to go in and then couldn’t cool off once inside. I unzipped the end about 1/3 of the way to help and ended up fanning him with the safety pamphlet. I was going to get a small battery powered personal fan to take on the plane but it slipped my mind.. I wish I had cause that would’ve help a lot. After a visit to the vet my pug weighs 20.5 lbs and fit perfect in the large 19” carrier. The shoulder strap that doubles as a leash is probably my favorite feature. Extremely convenient and allows you to let your dog out ASAP without rummaging through other bags etc. If your dog is on the larger side of small (20 lbs give or take) … this bag is a safe bet.

Not great for travel
The bag itself is sturdy / decent quality and spacious enough, but really expensive for what it is. I have had a couple of travel carriers for my pup over the past 13+ years and I would have returned this one if it was possible to do so, but I was outside of the return window by the time I was able to utilize and understand the issues:- the rope handles are a cool concept, but not great for function. They are difficult to use to keep the bag on your shoulder. Unlike every other carrier I have had, you cannot loop the the rope handles over the luggage handle which if you tend to put the carrier on your luggage while wheeling through the airport is a big deal.- there is no luggage strap / feature to attach the carrier to your luggage (most all travel carriers have this feature), so it is not very secure.- the rope handle that doubles as a leash is super short, not very functional when traveling with bags/luggage and you end up having to take a more functional leash where you are going anyway, so a bit of a waste of space.Overall, this is a bulky bag that just doesn't function for travel. The much less expensive carriers (< $50) end up being more functional if you are purchasing for travel.

Our dogs favorite travel bag/bed
This was an amazing purchase for traveling with our dog! I do wish it had a luggage sleeve or slits to rest it securely on top of a carry-on. When we’re traveling, our dog uses the bag as a bed, which is super convenient. Other than that small detail, the bag is great!
