Sweese 20 OZ Porcelain Tea Mug with Infuser and Lid, Loose Leaf Tea Cup, Gifts for Tea Lover - Pink

I was looking for a quality porcelain mug for coffee and tea that would be durable and able to withstand thermal shock. A previous stoneware mug had basically exploded after pouring freshly boiled water into it, so I was looking for a mug that would withstand temperature changes and last for years. I'm giving this item 3 stars because it is useful and a nice looking mug but it isn't porcelain. Porcelain should have a certain level of glassy bond that develops during vitrification. This bond creates a stronger ceramic that makes it more durable, slightly translucent and resonant. When I tapped this mug with my fingernail, it sounded tinny and hollow, whereas a good quality porcelain will have a lighter, more delicate sound when tapped. Oddly, the lid seems to me to have a higher level of glassy bond, as it's heavier and has the glass-like resonance when you tap it. Comparisons to some of the porcelain I already own highlight the difference in weight, feel and resonance. I've had this mug for several months now and I will say I'm loving its size, the large tea strainer is very useful and the lid is a nice addition. But I took off 2 stars because these qualities were secondary for me. I mainly wanted a good porcelain ceramic mug. Size was secondary and the tea strainer was just a bonus of choosing this particular mug. If the listing for this item had said stoneware ceramic instead of porcelain, I would have no issue at all. But I was looking for, thought I was buying and expected to receive a porcelain mug and that's not what I got. We'll see how long it lasts.

This has everything you need to make a really good cup of tea. The top fits securely, the strainer is the perfect size and is gauged correctly. It even works with mullien! It is also large enough to hold all the herbs you need for a healthy cup of tea. It's designed so you can pour the water directly over the herbs, without them escaping into the cup. It's thick enough to keep your tea hot for a long time. But it's also very comfortable to hold. I'm going to buy several more for gifts.

What I love: The 20 oz mug is a great shape and size... perfect for my large morning matcha latte... the wide bottom allows me to wisk matcha in it and it is very stable. Seems to handle heat well so far. Love that it has a lid that doubles as a dish for tea strainer or spoon. Finally, a mug that functions in size and shape!What could be improved: For such a large mug, the handle is positioned a bit too high for its center of gravity, and also the handle and the handle attachment joint to the mug could be thicker and sturdier. The lid's catch to the mug could be a bit deeper so it doesn't slide off easily. Engineering needs a bit of tweeking.All in all, I'm happy to find a mug large enough and beautiful for my morning ritual, thanks.P.S. The Prime member price is $16.99, but I was accidentally charged the non-member price of $21.99. Could you please correct this error? I would appreciate it.

Fine mesh infusers are so hard to find. I’ve ordered several that have a very different definition of “fine” than I do. This one filters teas as well as stray coffee ☕️ grounds that slip through our Keurig. Size is huge, way bigger than I really need but the rounded belly base makes it easy to hold & warm my hands at the same time, so cozy 😌Minor Cons (my reason for 4 vs 5 stars ⭐️)The lid had a small chip & slight imperfection but Sweese was quick to respond and hope to receive that replacement soon.Color indicates white porcelain but it is a warm white? so it does stand out from my true white porcelain dinnerware. Not sure what I would call it, maybe cream, but not white.

I already love this mug! It’s comfort hold. I love the size! This is a USPS large flat rate box for height comparison. This is big enough to give me the amount of tea I want plus if I want to add creamer or milk it all fits in this mug! I also love the size of the strainer! And having it with the mug and the lid just makes having a cup of tea even easier!It feels sturdy and good in the hand. The handle is large enough to fit all four of my chubby fingers through! Which is sometimes hard to find!Yup! Love this mug! Now I will be looking into getting a few more for when friends come over!

This is a tea "mug". It is large compared to a standard coffee/tea cup. The color is vibrant and beautiful. It holds heat so tea doesn't get cold. So easy to use with strainer inside and top to cover. Also, get a free tea scoop when you like on facebook!

I purchased this May 4 and began using it once each day as soon as it arrived. Loved the shape, feel, and comfort of holding it. Loved the large capacity and the cheerful color. All around my favorite mug ever. The drawback was that it chipped on the first “hard” knock with another dish while being hand washed. We do all our dishwashing by hand and are careful, but occasionally we do have a less than gentle knock with two pieces, always our own fault. However, the other mugs we have used through the years have stood up to them while this one chipped. After a few short weeks, this expensive mug is in the trash. I had considered gifting one of these to a friend. Now, I am glad we didn’t. Additional note - we have a set of this company’s two-handled soup bowls and have had no issues with them.

My dad just broke his favorite cup so I was looking for a new mug for him for Christmas. I wanted a large cup and this was the biggest one I could find at 20 oz which is about 2 cups of coffee or tea. I also wanted a lid to keep it warm longer and it was cool that it came with a lid and a loose tea strainer.My dad ended up loving the mug, he said his last cup didn’t allow enough room for creamer and 2 cups of coffee. This one allows for that and whipped cream. He’s also able to make his ginger root tea with the strainer. The lid is also perfect for keeping his mug warmer longer. Thank you for this awesome gift! Die Tassen von Sweese sind alle wunderschön. Ich habe sie inzwischen in verschiedenen Größen und Farben und liebe jede einzelne von ihnen. Sie sind stabil und durch den Deckel bleibt der Tee länger warm. Zudem kann er als Ablage für das Teesieb dienen, eine tolle Idee. Die Teesiebe sind leicht zu reinigen und auch nach sehr vielen Spülmaschinengängen noch immer rostfrei.Die große Tasse mit dem Fassungsvermögen von 590 ml ist erstaunlich leicht für ihre Größe. Sie ist sehr gut verarbeitet und durch ihre Form steht sie absolut kippsicher. Der große Griff liegt gut in der Hand. Bemängeln möchte ich einzig, dass die abgebildete Farbe mit der tatsächlichen nichts gemein hat: Beworben wird sie als "fliederfarben" bzw. "lila", jedoch würde ich sie eher als ein "gedecktes Himmelblau" bezeichnen. Dennoch ist die Farbe sehr schön, daher gibt es keinen Punktabzug.

Love this mug. Easy to use. Easy to clean. I'm very happy with the size. I don't want to make a whole pot of tea but I want more than a little cup full.
