Received used / returned product
Purchased Pentel mechanical pencil lead refills, ASIN B008JF3RLC, on 6/28/23. Product arrived previously opened and taped closed, with a new barcode label pasted over the opening. Very obviously used or returned item. I therefor have NO idea as to whether or not the contents are the leads I wanted (0.5, 4B ) or if the quantity (40) . For $4.50 not worth the hassle of a return, but very disappointed and annoyed.

Great for Journaling
This soft lead is GREAT if you have to do a lot of writing. the soft lead cuts down on writing fatigue.

Very soft lead
I have issues using this with my Rotring 600 and lead persistently snapping whenever I apply any amount of pressure. I'm not sure if it's the configuration of the pencil, or the combination of the lead with that pencil and my naturally heavy pressure I place on my pencil, but it seems like whenever I apply even a remote amount of pressure this lead tends to snap.I swapped it out with some generic Super Hi Polymer lead, and that worked just fineI think it would've done me good to research that 4B would've been softest to begin with, but that's neither here nor there.

Softest I could find in .5mm
This works just fine, and writes darker than harder leads of course, and (my reason for needing it) writes visibly on the back of modern inkjet photo papers. Haven't had trouble with the leads breaking while writing.
