Organic Psyllium Powder

The product arrived quickly, packaging is good, nothing leaking, powder seems to be very clean, no visible inclusions, no insects inside. I discovered that if I warm up the water in the microwave for 90 seconds, the powder dissolves much better, still clumps up but that's no problem, easy to drink. The taste is neutral, in fact almost pleasant. I tried before some nasty tasting psyllium powders and I know the difference. This one is fine. And it works. After just a few days I already lost half a pound without any effort. Will add some exercise and light calorie restriction to speed up wait loss. Will buy again.

Seems to work well. Have used different brands and this one seems to be as good or better than anything else I have tried. Not much taste, other than typical for Psyllium Husk. Dissolves well with vigorous mixing. Consistent texture/grind. Good product

This stuff is fan-FRIGGEN-tastic! I bought this product after using and having great success with Metamucil but trying to save some monies it’s a good ten dollars cheaper and boy was I shocked with the results being s good if not better than the more expensive brand. This is by far the most regular I have been since I was a child and I am now pushing forty. I am almost guaranteed at least on big satisfying dump a day leaving me feeling good and empty and on the rare occasion that I do not nag a bowel movement I get the biggest loudest make me lift out loud farts that I have ever had they are incredible I call them THUNDER FARTS because I swear the ground shakes when I crack on of these bad boy’s and double plus is they don’t smell! Just good clean fun!

Doesn’t dissolve at all in cold things. Earthy taste, very clumpy and makes things very thick. But it does it’s job in the poop department. Wish I didn’t miss the return window to return though as I prefer a grainier psyllium husk that dissolves better. Since I refused to throw this out or just let it waste space, this may be growing on me as I have realized that I’d just rather mix it in a shaker or blender bottle, with water or juice and chug it. Right away. Before it gets thick. I’m taking it as a good, organic fiber supplement...it’s not supposed to be fun or delicious.

I suffer from occasional constipation. I am not someone who likes to take medication unless it is absolutely necessary so I was happy to find this powder. I fill a small cup, that I have a tight lid for, part way with water then add about 2 tsp of this powder to the cup. I put the lid on and shake vigorously. It all dissolves in to the water well with shaking it. When I tried to stir it in it didn’t work very well. I then take the lid off and down it as quick as I can. When the product first arrived it had a curry smell/taste to it. I am not fond of curry, that smell/taste has dissipated over time which is good, but this stuff still doesn’t taste very good. When my kids need it I do the same process only with some apple juice instead of water which masks the taste well enough that they can handle it.

This is an excellent quality fiber product. After getting this, I realized that all plain "organic psyllium husk powders" are not the same. This brand, Jiva Organics, bulked up much more quickly when mixed with water. And the results the next day, were better too, if you get my drift.

My go-to psyllium fiber's morning-glass-of-torture has more than doubled its price, so I figured I'd try this. It's been an interesting experiment. Basically, this fiber is ground so blasted fine that it's akin to sawdust. There is no way one can mix it in with a spoon. When I tried that, it would remain in huge clumps, which I would try to drink, and which would stick to my teeth, or be partially swallowed like gummy bears. Not that I ever swallowed gummy bears, but I saw my kids eat them. Even an electric toothbrush could not dislodge those small masses of psyllium. It was quite amazing. So I ended up buying a cheap ($14) "milk frother". That has served its purpose. Intestinal-application-wise, this appears to work as well as my old wood fiber drink. My intestines applaud its effectiveness. I will buy it again, unless my previous preference comes down in price. But get a frother when you order this.

... but having used psyllium on the advice of my Doctor for over twenty years, I have to say I am extremely impressed with the quality of the bag I received from Jiva Organics some months ago. This product is cheaper in bulk than the Konsyl and CVS brand I am accustomed to but it is also significantly less repugnant. Any version of psyllium will work, but the issue is forcing yourself to take it day after day, so the taste makes a big difference to me. The taste of the other brands I mentioned are reminiscent of the dust from a horse trail, which is not a pleasant association. This product is relatively tasteless. This version also dissolves in water immediately when agitated without forming clumps, which I find much easier to swallow quickly before it gels. It appears to be extremely well dried. I keep mine in an airtight container; once psyllium gets damp it's going to be difficult to dole out. And as any user of psyllium should already know, you have to drink extra liquids after taking it, otherwise you are likely to wake up in the middle of the night with a cramp. After twenty years you'd think I would have learned that lesson, but I still sometimes forget ...

perhaps i am too used to whole psyllium husks, this psyllium powder does nothing to my bowels which seem sluggish at best… going back to husks now…
